It was from this guy. Would have done more with him but he was real bad to deal with !

Ah yeah that guy.

Not bought anything from him but I may steal his ideas on the rx8 big wing sump but refine it a bit so it's easier to fit without grub screws

Bit of an update,

Sadly due to unforeseen circumstances I lost a couple of months on the car, which meant I missed the first Thunder Saloon races @ Silverstone yesterday.

I do have a test session booked on the 7th of May though and if all goes well, I race at Mallory on the 22nd May then with Thunder Saloons the following week.

Huge thanks go to my No 1 Sponsor Steve, tea maker etc which means between us the cars coming along now.
Steve even had Julien who works for him make a new splitter, made under Steves guidance he had never done fabrication before and it came out great.
Biggest issue/change has been the new Gear Box that involved removing the power plant frame.

As you will see below the gear box and diff are now supported and you will see how much further forward the gear change is now.

Fortunately I bought a Hurst short shifter which means the stick travels less and wont hit the dash board.
Also fitted an Alloy Racing Beat flywheel which  will mean the revs fall away faster helping the clutchless gear changes with the new Dog Box.

Looking good captain.

All the best for the rest of this year, hope all the mods pay off.

You need a sponsorship deal with Cadbury's. That's a lot of Aeros you're going to owe him.  ;D
Good to see Christine is dressing up in new underwear for her 2021 debut. Good luck at Mallory.
Call if the sign guys don't have the sticker art on file.  I'm like Steve...never throw anything away, just can't always find it at the drop of a hat.

Great work there Clive, Steve and Julian  :icon_thumleft:

Those gearbox braces look great - any idea on the overall weight saving of the new box/clutch/bracing setup overall, compared to the original setup with the mega heavy PPF?

Thanks for the comments above, appreciated.

Jon, as above / Mallory on the 22nd May then with Thunder Saloons the following week. (at Donnington)

Andrew, the RBE stickers below were from John French origonaly years ago so my guy has not got them. So if you get a chance  ;)

We kept all the bits that were cut out over the winter and calculated the door savings and came up with a saving of 56.5 kilo.

All the best Clive
