Well done Clive enjoyed watching that.

Now I bet the question in your head is, how can I can catch the guys at the front?

1. More boost
2. Less weight (the car not you)
3. Gear box/dog box/sequential/voodoo
4. One more rotor
5. 2 more rotors
6. More aero (these can be bought at the shop, 3 for £1.50)
7. More grip?
8. I'm out of ideas now

Mr Spiller

Just watched it on you tube
I know when Clive says that this class they basically turn up like race teams ...//
It only really hit home watching the video and actually seeing the articulated  trailers , buses motor homes etc in the pit area .
To be fair to you Clive , simply getting on the grid with such cars is impressive enough , however , your result is pretty impeccable .

First up Huge thanks for the support above, it really does help  :great: :great:

Probably the best thing is I came home with a car 100% ready to go for the next outing and I know I probably should be over the moon with the results, but found it frustrating  that I couldn't find the grip off the track I found in  qualifying and trust me I drove my socks off trying to go faster  :(.

I haven’t seen the race yet, so I don’t know what you have seen, but In today’s race the BMW that was hunting me down eventually spun up at Druids! The quick Colin Voyce Escort behind took note that I was obviously running wide for a reason, unfortunately the BMW didn’t and spun on the small line of oil that was on the bend with no oil flags  ;).
Colin had a chat with me after and told he could see I was on the limit of my tyres and as he put it, over drove the car in an effort to beat me, but couldn’t . I reminded him that the last time we raced together was in 1979 with him in a quick Anglia and me in a MK1  Escort, so at least he had some idea I could actually drive  ::).

What you all don’t know is that I had a couple of issues, first I was shown the naughty boy warning board, so alternative my lines to stay 100% within track limits, then I was shown a 5 second penalty  board!!  I have to say , both of which broke my concentration slightly.I went straight up to see the clerk of the course after to find the penalties were for car 5 which was nowhere near me  :violent1:!

Anyway, yes some of the quicker cars dropped out, but as they say, to finish first, first, you have finish, so I will !

One other thing that became evident is with all the stickers on the car, people think I am all sponsored up, but you all know better. With a sponsor and something other than a £50 gearbox fitted, I may actually be faster and be able to compete with the front runners properly----where's that lottery ticket  :)

Didn't want to make it easy and besides by making him work for it he may have fallen off because of having to work for it  :)),

As I said to Phillip yesterday god knows what that ex Plato car cost when you consider it probably had a 5 Mill budget behind it what it was in BTCC!

If  people are right and a sequential box is worth 2 seconds plus, that would put the car right on the money  ;).

I guess if you play with the big boys and they realise you don’t have sponsorship .
The more chance you have of gaining some considering yours in the top third of results ?
