Race 2 Start from inside the Castrol Honda, I see I was literally on the edge of the track on the straight!

Having found I could do a race without an alternator, with the help of Steve making up the leads while I modded the battery box, we now have two battery's in the box.

Daft question and I think I know the answer... But why get rid of the alternator and replace with another battery?

Yes I got away with no alternator at Mallory but I still need to make sure I have good voltage.

Earlier in the year the marshals got me to start and stop the engine so many times before lining up, eventually the car failed to start and I couldn't race. 
With both battery's on board that still weigh in at only around three kilos they are not really a handicap and this way I should never have any more issues.

Nope, it adds 1.5 kilo with the second battery.

OK, at Mallory the alternator stopped charging and I strapped on a second battery and it got me through the race 

Alternator is now working but I have fitted the second battery in parallel so I still have 12 volts and I now have back up, so if the alternator ever dies again I will be OK.

So now I know its weight and BHP I stuck this info into a BHP PER TONNE calculator and came up with 415,  so anyone got any ideas if this is good or bad?

I use the westfield kit car calc...
It shows other cars that are in range.you have more than
Lamborghi Murcielargo lp640. And Diablo gt
And Ascari kz1. 406 bhp per tonne.
