Wooohoo indeed! I look forward to the video of the 2nd race in particular. Clive worked his way up from 4th on the grid to a WIN!!! :sign0098:

I missed the live commentary again, sadly  :(

Fastest lap of 51.342s too.

Congratulations Clive, I'll bet you are pleased with that race and result  :)

Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.

0o0o0o0o0o0o0o That clio on the final bend was close to you !! well from that camera angle.

I do like mallory, looks tight for cars as Ive only ever watched bikes there.

You like that back straight, dont ya? Pass, block, great stuff. Inside, outside..... wombling free.

Good to see her back on track after the front end rework.... hows it performing for you? Better than before?

Good win clive  :13:

Going into the event I had a target of getting into the 51second bracket but the day started pretty pants as I was surprised to see a 53.8 which I wasn’t happy about but then made a small tyre pressure adjustment for a bit more rear grip. Then came the first race where I made a poor start and basically the leaders got away, so I still wasn’t happy “however” I did break into the 51’s and got fastest lap, so the car did have a little pace after all , with that said I did still beat the big money late Scirocco (compared to mine) that was in my class to get the class win and 4th overall !

Lucky to make the end of the first race as the alternator had stopped charging, so I put another battery in parallel to hopefully give me enough power capacity for the next race. Into the second Race then and I had a little word with myself that I must try harder, so I did.
The red Clio of Nick Gwinnett’s is even quicker now with a newer sequential box on board and the only way I was quicker was because 2/3rd’s of the way around Gerrards because of the extra grip the front end has,  I was able to go full throttle in 4th and carry a lot of corner speed onto the back straight. What you don’t see on the video is that I couldn’t get the car fast out the hairpin, which let Nick get along side every time, but even though I kept the car tight out through the corner onto the straight, he could get around the outside. Last lap Nick tried extra hard and got his nose in front but as he was still turning left and going downhill the backend lost grip and around he went into the barrier

I was really upset thinking that initially that he may have been hurt then later that his car was damaged, also to see a race that I was so enjoying end the way it did with that damage.

First of all I though “maybe” Nik had clipped me but the four officials right up in the tower who witnessed the incident saw that the back end of the Clio, just lost grip!

So so , pleased I got out the throttle as I started to see the back come round so I didn’t T bone him, which would have made for a much bigger accident.

There was a small mark on a front winglet but we couldn’t tie that in with anything on Nick’s car, but now I have seen the video, I can see it was a “love tap” from Phil Wright’s Civic going into Gerrards , which I had a good battles with at the start of each race.

So to wrap this long story off, got to be pleased with two overall fastest laps, two class wins and an overall win.

Below you will see things got a bit close! And also how close it was with Nicks Clio.

Lastly to put things into perspective about how quick the Track Attack cars are, the was an Audi A8 ALMS racing in another class on slicks with god knows how much power and aero sat on pole, only  just over two seconds a lap faster than our cars.
