Christine you bast**d!   :violent1:

Just before race, when I saw update from Malcolm I think, I thought aaah crap I have bad feeling about this...  :(

Well, luckily car was good to go in 2nd, and P4 is quite good.  :sign0098:

First thing is to thank Malcolm and Glenn for their help yesterday, but unfortunately due to first a battery error, then my own error, I came away with nothing to show for the day except for an intact healthy car, which a few didn’t due to blow ups and accidents, including the Jenson that destroyed itself and took  the barrier down with it, on the warm up lap!. Car was all ready to go in the holding pen to start from 5th on the grid, which was OK considering the amount of traffic and stoppages due to the lemmings chucking themselves off the track.

There was an MX-5 race and this resulted in keep turning the car off and on again and again whist we waited for the track to be cleared for us, for the last time I went to start, nothing and I mean nothing. Turned out the battery must have shorted out inside because half an hour later the battery was still hot, choker is I should have fitted the new battery I had as a spare with me.

Battery changed and as you know I started from the back and off we went, just like F1 it gets progressively harder as you work your way up to the field as you come across the faster cars, but also with no blue flags to warn people I was going to pounce as they too were fighting for their own positions, I had to be maybe even more careful than normal.

Frustrating race with many yellows plus a safety car left me frustrated in the car as I felt I could have caught and maybe overhauled the leaders by the end as it was on a couple of laps at the end I started to get clear laps, which you can see on the lap times.

So as you know I finished 4th from the back of the grid and won my class and was given a results sheet and a trophy to confirm this , BUT was then told with many others to report to the clerk of the course, to be told I was disqualified for overtaking under a yellow, which at the time I obviously did not see or I wouldn't have done so !.

The video will show yellow flags on the right coming up to Druids and I can only figure they came out while I was in the process of actually passing the car I was accused of overtaking and duly explained this to no avail!.

Rules are rules but all day long this guy was dragging drivers up for a lecture etc. As I said, if they had made their mind up to exclude me, it would have been kinder to show me a black flag and done with!

So it's off to Silverstone next Sunday and lets see how we can fair at that one.

Omg how frustrating :(

To be honest, I watched the lap times on tsl and I noticed that you went up a position while safety car was out but admittedly the commentary said that the guy in front, his telemetry hadn’t registered and that’s why.

Still a great effort Clive, hats off on charging your way through. Great feedback on the commentary.

And as you said Christine is in one piece, some positives to take from the day  :sign0098:

Last season, in one of ours rallycross events, one dude overtaked in yellow flag. He protested. Drivers had allready informed conserns and said about position of that flagtower. Also, driver had his incar vid to prove that he couldnt possible see that flag...

Eventhou protest would have went thru, harm was done, he could make to semi finals...

Many thanks again for taking the time to put that video together Philip  :13: I really enjoyed watching Clive carve his way up the field, especially with the commentary added. It's clear the commentators are is quite fond of rotaries, but one of them insists on calling Clive, "Clive Haynsforth"  :))

Sadly, at 5m25-26s on the video, you can see a waved yellow to the left, at the entry to Paddock Hill, which is the reason for disqualification  :( Very easy to miss, as Clive would have been concentrating on the road ahead and to the right, the gap he;s trying to exploit to overtake. I've missed a Red Flag on a trackday  :-[ in very similar circumstances - track running to the right (where I'm concentrating) and flag way off to the left. I could see it in my video replay, but missed it at the time!

Some pics from the day, including some BMW Cup carnage!

I only saw the yellow flags after casey pointed out the time on the vid, even from the comfort of my chair.

Im sure of others would have missed the yellow flag when entering a corner with a competitor in front of you and youre negotiating which line they are going. Such a shame.

Nethertheless, how fast? its very point n squirt ! see a gap and bang! Ta Ra !

I heard "Clayve Haynsforth" but I think the commentator was getting all excited lol

Impressive stuff! onward and upward!

Thanks Guys,

At the end of the day I should know better, I've been seeing yellow flags since I started racing at 16, worst I've done in the past is overtaken a car, realised then stomped on the brake to let the car behind come back by !

I was obviously asked why, and as I said to the clerk of the course who punished me, I was asked to be super careful when we lined up and I was very aware that every car I came up on had its own position so no blue overtaking flags, which made me that little more cautious as I attacked them making sure they know I was there. I have raced enough to recognise "body" language and you can see this with the MR2.

As I say, my bad, and Hayns forth became Hayns disqualified :-[

Great start! Unfortunately no room for overtaking much...

Car seems to be really fast. And smooth. Did you lose any traction toward end of the race?
