Donnington started not so good and ended not so good (but wasn't bad in the middle ;D).

In qualifyingy an alternator wire broke after 4 laps but come the race with a 35 car grid,` after a battle that lasted the whole race I won the Autumn Trophy :13

Started on pole for the second race an fried the clutch off the line, game over !

Car is better with the new Turbo but wasn't  as quick as I expected but then, the mapping still isn't quite finished so there's still more to come :)

Down to 1.19's so 2 seconds a lap quicker than last years time.

Yes its been an up and down year but the cars had 2 outright wins, 2 poles and won 6 trophy's so not a bad year and best of all without qualifying, a Sprint at Goodwood plus trackdays the engines now done some 27 races without a rebuild across three seasons a feat a lot of the piston racers would love  to emulate, who says Rotaries are unreliable  :13:

Well done Clive, shame about the fried clutch, but really great to see the win in the first race  :13:.

Not a bad year overall, especially considering the setbacks you suffered.

The car is clearly now very competitive with, as you say, more to come  :)

many thanks,

Here's a couple more from yesterday,

Still work to do.  Pip wants me to pipe the wastegate differently so he can finish the map.

The downpie / turbo V band set up is not sealing properly and the fumes in the car were terrible yesterday so I need to cut the back of the turbo off again and convert over to two of the thick cast stainless steel racing beat 3" flanges seen below, probably going to be a week or so before I can get it back into my friends shop to start work again.

Hopefully Philip recorded commentary for you to have a listen ..was quite inaccurate at points but they redeemed themselves.

Well done again Philip, overlaying the commentary and cutting between the front and rear cameras made for very enjoyable viewing  :13:

Congrats again Clive, great racing with the Renault so close behind and nipping at your heels!

No problem Malcolm, I'm glad you enjoyed it. The commentary just adds that extra spice especially when Clive is winning  ;D

Thanks Malcolm and Jarno,
Still wasn't at all happy with the car as its still struggling with turn in.  I put the rear shocks up two clicks and immediately found more speed even with a bad clutch. (Philip pointed out I was straight in the 1.19's)

I know now I should have put two pounds in the rears and that would have helped, next time I may actually find some speed this way ;).

OK, I have a conundrum, i need to have slightly longer gears in 3rd and 4th.

So if I change my final drive gear ratio from 4.4 to 4.3 how many revs will I gain, i'm guessing around 500 RPM , anyone ??

I really like Philip's vids. Good job

That clutch really took a beating at launch. But good start tho... Car sounds amazing
That Renault is really fast,  even in that fast track...
