Lol. If I get a bit of spare cash, enough for the mx5 we’ve talked about I will be keeping the box to drop into that with my engine lol. Should be getting my tax return soon.....

I got mine from Kev years ago, Prety certain he had a few others spare on the racking at his company/work

Speaking to Tim today..rx motors.
Rx7 fd gearboxes have widergears for more load.
He suggested with regard to your set up with the 8 gearbox is rx8 bell housing fd gearbox with rx8 tail...so would be right length i.e rx8 gearbox length...this is the set up in his drag car. he suspects youve stripped the gear.

Many thanks for your help over the winter Jon.

Cars finally all ready after another frantic day of preparation.

Changed the brake system yet again!, stuck my new 9.5 Enkie wheels and Toyo R888R 265 tyres front and rear on, so the car will feel completely different especially as it will have different gear ratios as well with the 5 speed box , so we are back to learning the car in qualifying  ;)

I know some of you follow the events via TSL so here's the times for the event on Sunday :great:

Qualifying is at 10.25 / 1st race 14.55 2nd 17.50

p.s. real pleased to see Paul Buckmaster out with me in his FD  :13:
All the best Clive

Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.

Don't normally post pictures of myself ----------but is a special day  ;)

Brands Hatch to day, I had a very different and faster RX-8, over 2 seconds a lap faster, that much different.

With all the changes to the brakes, now having the 5 speed RX-8 gearbox plus losing around 25 kilo out the car and different wheels and tyres, it felt very very different to get used to.

30 car grid and qualified only 11th   :( end of the first race , finished 6th Overall and won my class and knew I had to get my finger out for the second race  ::)

Got chopped off on the start of the second race but got up to 4th, then on the second lap a car decided to have a lay down on its roof after tying to get through Paddock Hill unsuccessfully ???

Full grid line up and a standing  start from 4th, made  a fairly good start and got the three around the outside at Paddock  Hill to lead into Druids and then fought off the following cars the whole race to win overall, knowing that with just one tiny mistake the race would have been lost.

With me Winning Overall, the first four of us ended up being covered by only 2 seconds at the line, to be told on the podium it was the best race of the weekend  :)

Because of the pressure, It was actually one of the best races of my long racing career, plus the car now laps consistently in the 54 second bracket with a best of 54.4 seconds---------- this year my aim was 55 seconds!

Huge thanks to everyone for support for this project  ----------- I always knew the RX-8 would be a winner eventually  :great:

All the best Clive
