Thanks Tony, been a while so It will be good to see you.

Going to pull the engine today to change the clutch as it takes me about the same time to pull the engine as the gear-box.

Going to have a strip and check of the engine while its out, this engine has now done 6 races and three track days and has been so good I just want to make sure all is well inside.

Engine is fine just a split oil rubber which could have been from heat with the initial mapping,

Here we go, not too exciting except for the spin where I got chopped off at Mcleans plus dealing with the clutch slipping partially not allowing full power.

Shame is with the DSC off for the second race, had the clutch not been fried, the car would have been much much faster than the first race shown below.

That over take on the skyline was amazing. I bet with no slipping clutch you would have had a great race against him for sure !!

Can you glue that mirror ball...or dab it with a soldering iron? Loads of wannabe Jason Platos out there....

Which plates did you use for the engine clive? FC plates or FD ones? I was wondering which side mount alternator bracket you used and also the alternator and the pulley you had on it?

Are you using a Hall effect sensor or something different for crank angle detection?

And finally are you using an FD front cover??

It's completely an FD engine, using a  Full Function Engineering wheel assembly.

The side mount came from Mazdatrix but don't forget I use a custom alternator due to have no space down the side of the engine like you do on an FD

Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.

I have an extreme rotaries side mount alternator bracket, which is for an FC (as I'm using FC plates, with the centre mounting brackets) and an FD front cover...

So I cannot use an FD alternator due to how the FD alternator mounts, it has offset mounting tabs, and also the FC one can be used BUT the pulley does not stick out far enough too line up with the main pulley, not only that but an FC pulley is for a V belt and not a ribbed one....

Iv tried finding a replacement pulley that sticks out far enough but with no such luck only thing I can think of is too make a pulley too mount too the FC alternator, and also get the alternator modified to be more powerful.

OR!!! Get a custom alternator, smaller package but mounts too the side mount I have??

If you understand all that and have any suggestions I'm all ears

I am making a dump from scratch, would you recommend adding a drain into it too allow for a catch can drain? Or would it be better to put a drain for a catch can into the turbo drain back?

Grant the pulley should simply swap straight for the ribbed pulley,

Don't drop the can drain into the rear turbo drain, tried this and first time I went around a tight hairpin at Snetterton the oil came up the tube, loads of smoke and chucked off track ! :(

Only really successful way to dump oil back in is via the front cover  :great:

Although all is well with the oil system finally, while the engine was out I made another mod for the sump just to control the the oil surge a little better  :)
