For anyone going to Donnington Saturday, we now have a revised timetable with Qually now at 11.45, first race 14:50, then the second one is the late shift at 18.25 when every ones gone home

4th in class first race. 12th overall. Should have been 6/7th overall but had to avoid a clio to avoid a collision so took a bit of a detour on the grass.

Skyline that finished second has admitted too having 650 hp so that fast Subaru which beat the skyline also must have the same.

Best lap was a 1.21.9

Fastest lap by the skyline was a 1.17!!

So clive and the car made it through a full day No dramas,..... well I would call that a WIN WIN and well done Clive.....

Huge thanks to those who came along to support my "efforts"

Aborted practice as I saw the oil pressure fluctuating (just needed a drop more oil) but this was partially the reason for a lowly 14th on the grid ,
out of 41 cars.   

Didn't get of to a bad start and made up a few places to get up to 6th from 14th but unfortunately with an unstable rear end I got a tank slapper on going into McLeans after going down the Craner curves which let a car past but one lap on in the same place I had a lot more speed down into McLeans with loads of room on the inside and carrying a lot of speed, well up the revs in 5th this Cleo cup thing not only took the line but also the whole corner and kerb leaving me no where to go but spinning round and round on the grass, hence 12th position!

The race had another little issue in the the clutch started to slip!

Tried adjusting the clutch between races but the after the start the clutch was dead and fried, immediately settled for just going for the finish as I had to now accelerate very slowly or the clutch just wizzed away like I was in neutral.

Stupidly for the first race I forgot to partially disable the DSC because with the huge horsepower I now throw at the car, I now know the DSC system gets confused and unsettles the car, hence the tank slapper in the first race.

Shame is now with the DSC off and the car with full power and the handling behaving and no dead clutch I would say I would have got to the front of the field as I would say I had around 3 seconds a lap quicker than the 1.21 I had poorly managed.         

OK, finished both races with no dramas other than the clutch, which is an easy fix, but still disappointed to come away knowing that If I hadn't had to nurse the car all day with a slipping then ultimately fried clutch the car would have had much more speed and potentially the  results to go with it.  In other words two twelfth places wasn't a true reflection of the pace the car should have had.

Poor Paul Buckmaster (Buko) had a worse day as he retired in the first and failed to show for the second with his RX-7 

Not doing the next Nippon round as I am going to go to Brands on the 2nd of Sept for the All Comers race, should be a good day out but up against very varied machinery from Radicals to MGB's. Just going to do this one for fun as its on my doorstep.

Next proper, proper race will be  on the 15 October for the Autumn Trophy Races @ SILVERSTONE  on the International  Circuit

Well a slipping clutch still gave the respectable 1.21s.

3 seconds quicker puts you right there with the Subaru and skyline doing 1.18s!! Considering they're at 650hp

Like we were talking about, a little refinement in the AFRs will give you a couple of ponies maybe and clutch that's working and maybe a few more psi boost and the car is sorted.

Still sounds awesome hearing that turbo spooling up!

Need to find me a rolling chassis mx5 mk3.5 now.... lol

Been think more about oil surge....worth a try running yours at max on dipstick....your catch tank oil return is also acting as breather mate...
