Many thanks Chris,

Just tried to get my Steve to order 1.5 before seeing your post (to dump some weight) but he has already re-ordered 2mm as he is convinced it needs this thickness.
As you will see, I know I can bend 2mm just as easily ( now where's that T Cut  ;))

Been a bit quiet as I missed the Rockingham round due to going to Rotarystock.

Cars all back together now and the now shortened  rear diffuses that got ripped off actually fit better now and should be more effective.

Now to share some info that caught me out!

Biggest thing is that as some of you know, I had a smoke issue with the car when it was cold and had to get the engine hot before it cleared,

All this was after a Turbo core change after Snetterton which "should" have been identical in every way !!!!

I have racked my brains for the last few months over this because if it was a bad Turbo it would smoke all the time not just for the first 10 minutes!!

I was alll set to pull the engine although it had no filler neck pressure, then it occurred to me that "maybe" an oil restrictor would help and  yep, that was the problem >:D

Turns out the GT40 needs a specific size restrictor because when the oil pressure is high when cold the oil pushes past the seals in the Turbo.

"BUT" the reason this was overlooked was that the old core did not have this problem and did not need one and it should have been an identical replacement,  I can only think that Garrett  have changed the bearing and oil seals inside the core  Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr  !!!!!!!

Anyway really looking forward to a week next Saturday the 12th August when I'm out on one of my favourite tracks, Donnington and according to the entry list we have  Paul Buckmaster back out in his  RX-7 FD and  Antony Weeks in his RX-8

Hi Clive

Donington - that's close enough and it's about time we caught up.

I went to the 'buy tickets' on their web site but the event isn't listed, or am I missing something.

John
I started with nothing and I have most of it left

Unfortunately I can't make it to this one - Colchester Utd are playing at home that day!

I wish you good luck Clive  :13:

Proper 40 car grid next Saturday  :) got a letter saying there's reserves waiting so if anyone can't attend let the organiser know.

Really looking forward to this one, hopefully in the dry.

Brilliant can't wait. Wonder if I can get my son sat in them all, lol.

Have they mentioned anything about staggered starts? To keep those nasty Mr. 2s away from your repairs?
