Daft question but why the stock steering wheel clive?  Better too not have a quick release one?

Or does taking it up cause faults with the ecu?

Enjoyed that. Looked to be a bit of a lonely drive in the second race but obviously we can't see what's behind you.

In the second race it was far from lonely as  I had these two in the picture behind and sometimes in front all race long, they got me once when I missed a gear and chucked it in 6th instead of 4th and as they were so quick in the tighter corners I actually let them go a couple of times knowing I could get them back in other places till the last lap when I decided to put some space between them and myself to ensure I beat them to the line.

The smaller cars are not to be underestimated, power to weight ratio and all that ;) Mind you hopefully with some development I won't have these buzzing around me forever, give em their due they both worked very hard and fairly to pester me.

Steering wheel is just sans air bag as I like the stock wheel / hence Beep Beep on the hairpin  :D

p.s as for can't see behind me, my friend Philip who posted the video suggested a second mirror  ;)

p.p.s I will say the camera is great  as I can see properly AFR, EGT, Oil and Water readings after the event to check all is well  :)

Quick update, out again Monday@ Castle Coombe.

Car is now equipped with a brand new Garrett core rather than a rebuild (price was not much different),mind you I thought this was still no good as it took about an hour off and on to get the clouds of smoke to clear !!

Now back with my center exhaust straight system with an extra box to get it down from 106db as I know the twin exit was strangling the car (it was mapped on the single free flowing one so it will be OK)

Also fitted an 11 psi spring to hold the wastgate closed better, had I done this previously I might not have lost the Turbo as stuck open and the Turbo was allowed to spin itself to death.

As you will see from the time table, it should be a good meeting just to spectate.

All ok atmo...scrutineering noise qualification all done...Naughty Clive dropped a few grid places for "exceeding track limits"  Combe seem very strict this year onit as lots of competitors being pulled up.
Personally i timed a 1.18 but they used a 1.19.9 for qualify above ..
Clive still setting it up...theres more in there....

Thx Jon  :icon_thumleft:

Just seen the TSL published qually results, Clive 10th on the grid for the first race. I see that he Subaru that was very fast at Snetterton in the last race has qualified fastest with a 1m14.968  ??? That'll be hard to beat, as he's over 2 secs quicker than anyone else  :(

2 seconds and they're all 400hp..... I'm no race car driver but I am a little sceptical.

First race over.

Clive 7th with best lap of 1m17.729 (none too shabby  :13:), only 21 secs behind winner.

8th placed car was 13.8 secs behind Clive  :)

Winner's best lap was 1m15.949s, but I suspect he eased off after a few laps as he had a 12 second lead at one point, but 4 secs at the end.

Good luck in the 2nd race Clive, good to see 3 places gained off the grid and a good laptime in 1st race  :icon_thumleft:
