Holy crap... :( brakes my heart...

But once again, I have said this before and will say it again:  on board fire extinguisher system would have save from massive damages...  They are cheap, doesent weight so much, and they will destroy that fire almost before that fire even starts...

Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.

And Phil and others, I didn't meant to be rude with my previous comment. I do apologize.. Really brakes my heart to see that kind of damage...  :(

But the fact is, what one notorius racer here said years ago:
"With 400â,¬ fire extinguisher system, you can save 40000â,¬ car, within 4 seconds..."

Well .......firstly sorry to Phil, that looked pretty eventful, you should be commended for remaining calm by trying to pull the extinguisher release whilst you were still strapped in ! At least your okay and the car can be replaced/rebuilt.

Clive Well Done. Lets forget the track conditions and wobbly suspension. Practice laps and two races and you came home with Silver wear. That is poles away from where the car has been for the last two years. Great news and well done. Just think...now you know which buttons to press for the suspension and will have a new turbo... :13: for the next race  :))

here the 7 incident...real shame....gonna be a lot of work to resurrect....can some explain this front plate cracking incident? engine flex?
Yeh pretty much from what I can work out.
The detonation has to go somewhere as set is very violent so it will often take out the weakest link. Which is the front plate. All of the billet parts that people make now come with a bearing in the front plate, I'm assuming this is to help that problem.

Iv seen a few builds over the years where the oil take off for the turbos is the place where it cracks, sometimes due too people using the wrong types of thread on the threaded fitting etc.

There's a couple things that can be done too help strengthen the engine. Some cheap some not.

A plate on the bottom of the engine between the sump is good, 1/4" minimum but obviously lowers the sump etc.

Doweling kits, requires lots of machining etc.

I don't think you could go wrong with also having a flex plate too mount the front of the engine too the chassis, a lot like the drag cars have.

There's also ecu controlling/sensing set which can shut things down a lot faster than a person looking  at a gauge can do. Having a det threshold where ignition is cut or fuel or something.

Better to lose a few milliseconds on a lap than an engine/turbo/car etc

This is stuff Iv picked up from watching and reading

I don't know he might get away with a rotor and a front plate but depends what's happened inside. Bearings and stat gear might be dead also

Just an observation....car seemsfast and flowing in the right hander but in the left handers fair bit of tyre screeching....defo seem faster in the right corners....poss the left handers covered in cement dust.
