Clive well done on what looks like a useful day with two race finishes after all of the trials and tribulations.  I hope it was a good learning exercise for the rest of the year.

We hope to make it to Combe on Easter Monday to round off a full weekend of motorsport (WEC Silverstone)

I spoke to Clive on the phone on his way back home from Snettertonthis evening. He was very chirpy about the day and I'm sure he'll post up his report on the day soon, so I won't steal his thunder 

However, a pic is in order; Clive bombing down the main Bentley Straight in the first race of the day

Interesting observation Grant, as it looks OK in this shot, where the car would have been travelling much slower out of the hairpin at Agostini, there is no visible gap. In the previous pic, the car would have been doing around 110mph.

You can see it on the rear shot too. I found my cf bonnet on the rx7 did that at high speed and was terrified of it popping off. Maybe a couple more fasteners required in the middle for clive? Stop it flexing just incase it creates an incident.

Never had an issue with a stock bonnet on the fd though

I really, seriously, felt physically awful as I saw the build up to this incident with Phil Collard's car develop through my camera lens 

So sorry Phil's race, and day, had to end like this as all was going so well up to this point. The shot is a bit hazy as it's taken through the oil fire haze that came from Phil's car. That's his rear screen "popping off"

Holy crap!! What was problem? Seen something like this before, sump ripped open on a curb on a drift car, petrol soaked rotary oil hit the exhaust and whumf fire balls every where

This was a few seconds earlier, as Phil came past me, oil smoke for the rear and something "hooked" on the diffuser...

Interesting, it could be a piece of the sump on the diffuser, as a few seconds before that pic was taken, Phil ran wide on the entry to Bentley Straight and there was a huge cloud of dirt fly up. I know that kerb is pretty viscous, so it's feasible Phil "straddled" the kerb and caught the sump. Mere speculation on my part though. There was a huge shower of sparks from under the middle part of the the car as it went past that you can't see in the photo.
