What causes a front plate to crack? Detonation?

Think of it this way, how much force would you have to apply to break a front plate by hand??:)

thing is symptom and cause! and realizing which 1 and prevention measures.

This engine has taken a lot of abuse to get where it is so accumulation of all the events has weakened or 1 event that has lead to this failure

so what im trying to say is if another bare bones engine is built up what measures can be taken to stop this happening again and is/was 1 event or the result of the process of getting there!

It can be many things. I wouldn't point the finger at anyone causing it like some others would.

I would say its accumulative of all the things, and probably det, as it's takes a lot of force to crack a plate.

All the development  on this engine will prevent it happening again, maybe a few hours dyno time too, as Clive's the right man on the job for mapping.

As I met James willday this week down in leicester and he told me what Jay and kerim did a few years back to develop their knowledge of rotors:) junking engines to see how far to go with porting and also how much boost and timing on pump fuel they could throw at an engine before it went bang

1.8bar on pump fuel I was told....

So I'm sure next season the motor will be on point.

Another thing that can be done is dowelling and also a 1/2 steel plate sandwiched between the sump and engine to stop twisting but I doubt Clive will make that amount of power to need that

1.8 bar...jezzzus!
Cool think ill stick with NA!

If you want to beat the rest then turbo is the only way
