Still going forward Jon but still not quite there yet.

Yes its being a painful, but when you see the problems that the Red Bull F1 team is having, it just shows  the guys around me are doing an exceptional job getting this unique project to still keep going forward :Thumbsup!

Thing is, once all its problems have been cracked on my car Powergains will have the knowledge to replicate all this into other FD engined RX-8\'s if they wish to as they will have experience nobody else will have of how to integrate the engine and chassis together, properly  .
All the best Clive

Apparently putting details of your car spec in your signature means the nice folks on exile-rotorsport think you\'re a fool.  I can think of no higher compliment!

Clive,

A version 12 firmware update will be out for the ecu this week. It has a few new features you might be interested in like advanced engine protection features. Congrats on driving the car btw!

Hi guys, Car looks fantastic!
Dont want to hijack thread. But im looking at REW swap have a few questions especially regarding ECU and keeping the DSC etc etc... could you get in touch on thread..
rx8 bridgeport/FD 13b REW swap
Thank you

Scuba,

Unless like us you need to keep the stock systems in place due to competition rules, I would say put a conventional ECU like an Apexi or something similar to operate the engine and fit a conventional FD throttle pedal and cable which every one else who has tried this conversion has done, doing like this will make it a relatively  easy conversion.

We are now 4 months down the line with just sorting out electrical problems to  integrate the Chassis and the engine together with things still jumping out at us all the time to be resolved,

All these  are all patiently being worked through but its taking a lot of time and sadly I will be missing the first race because of this.

My advise would be keep it simple, hope this helps.

Clive,
Thanks for the reply.
Long story short. Car will be sent around the world and driven on the road including this country. So some/most factory systems are required for certain countries laws.
Must work includes DSC, ABS, dash instruments, auto leveling headlights, and must not have any lights on the dash! And as will be on the road i would like to keep interior things like factory stereo, steering wheel controls etc.
I am unsure and am waiting on an email for the steering and throttle control whether this must remain or can be changed, but i think they can be changed?
Will i need to run a similar setup to yours for this? Or will the apexi option be able to do all this? Can i get some advice?
Thank you

Grant Monkhouse

You will need to use the adaptor  alongside the stock ecu, and apexi won\'t be able too control the rest of the rx8, unless your great at rewiring.

Eliot at turblown engineering would be a great way to start learning about what you need to do also. He could probably point you in the direction of where too start and has many variations available too you for different setups:) he could even supply you with a turbo kit for an rx8 motor and the mapping to get it sorted. I would imagine your not after much more than 400-450 HP with a car that will be doing lots of miles?

Scuba

Thank you grant for the contact and advice! Yes your right was thinking 400-500hp. Thank you guys. Sorry for hijacking your thread a bit!
