I dunno. Do they actually do dynoing to make it fair?

Ha, but you could plant ones intentionally. Like "my car only make 400hp at 2bar" but it would be more like 600 etc

Clives series is split into bhp catergories gt150 gt200 etc....so i think we will have to wait til he comes along to explain...I think there is a Gt unlimited as well!

Ha yeh a simple "my wastegate must have stuck shut giving me more boost, good job Jay mapped those cells properly just incase of said situation"

I think Clive in 400hp rx8 is going to be really
Quick

Series with restricted power levels can demand you go to a dyno of their choice to check the power of your car.  Trackday Trophy won\'t let you enter without a dyno sheet from one of their approved dynos.

Apparently putting details of your car spec in your signature means the nice folks on exile-rotorsport think you\'re a fool.  I can think of no higher compliment!

defo open to abuse then that method of checking power then, must be rife amongst the field.
Better way is putting a air restricter in the front of the turbo like they do in WRC I believe, this limits the amount of air that can be ingested ergo limit the actual power produced due to only being a finite amount of air to be burnt with the fuel

Indeed but cheating in clubman racing is a quick way to getting blacklisted by most clubs and just not racing.

very hard to catch someone cheating in the power stakes, you can easy have some kind of parameter that would only activate on circuit, but soon as the system knows its on the dyno then it will revert to a different setting. So long as you are not blatantly that much faster then the field, hard to get caught at this type of "clubman" level

F1 knows this goes on hence why they introduced a standard ECU amongst the teams that gets regularly interrogated eg with logs and settings and telemetry to check no cheating is be done. This defo needed when the new turbo era starts.

I know the regs for saloons at combe and all forced induction have a max boost in psi and the ecu is controlled...last look a motec 800 and the access ports are sealed.

I think Clive had mentioned the skyline in the class had to run a Restrictor in class to limit its power.

I\'m sure Clive knows more than we do.

I think rules are there to be pushed, they push them in every sport, just look at all the bits of aero that have creeped back onto the f1 cars after they were told to remove them years ago to look like proper f1 cars.

The f1 turbo motors will be fun until they control any development over the years. I\'m sure they will come up with ways to exceed the 3.5 bar limit without the ecu recording it

Will66

I think the F1 motors will run pop-off valves so that if the boost gets above a certain level it vents to atmosphere and you lose power.
