Sorry to everyone, who helps and follows the car it was a rubbish weekend again.

Tested on Friday with a 53.5 but come qually I lost 1.5 seconds due to the the track changing----------went downhill after that, so not too much to report, as I ran midfield all weekend!!.

All is well with the car just needs more boost putting into it after I replace the Turbo as Pip was reluctant to put more in till I get a new one fitted.

Cars cornering well, maybe too well as I am now hitting the rev limiter all over the place.
Already thinking forward, knowing I need a 4.4 rather than the 4.7 diff ratio I have fitted, which will make the gears longer and with more power this should be a big step forward.

Already booked a testday for Oulton Park the day before which is the 28th May and is a on day event.

Don't think there's any need for apologies clive.

You achieve more than us mere mortals can dream of.....

And as for running midfield.... The Hiroshima hero is up against some hard hitting race cars with ££££

You need to be kind to yourself. The season still young

I think we can all sympathise with you at some level or another. Every change made uncovers another 2 which need to be done. Whether modding or racing the story is often the same.
As others have said, no apologies needed. We follow you and Christine because we share the same passion........when you both win is the bonus. I'm sure the season will come back to you, just a little more fettling and a dose of good luck!

Well done Phil for another epic piece of editing with both cameras and sound  :notworthy: So great to watch the race from that perspective.

I'm glad to see you had two clean and complete races Clive. That grid has some seriously expensive and powerful machines so, as others have said, don't beat yourself up about your results. It sounds like you learnt a lot about the car too, enabling you to plan next steps.

Huge thanks for the support, it does help.

Whist I understood Pips reservations as the blades on the hot side can errode, I stripped the Turbo this morning and found its in excellent  condition so it means it can know have some proper boost put through it.

After watching the vid...
Few things..
Tyres...these guys running new slicks every race...only so many heat cycles they can take my mate has found the btcc slicks great but he says there always slightly different and junks a few and this is only for trackdays..
Those bmws at the start there tyres seem to switch on and they checked out..maybe worth having a looksee rekky what the guys are doing...new tyre labels etc.
Your within a second or 2 so task to get at pointy end defo doable.
Car looks sorted planted sounding great .   Nailing them apexes.
Maybe tyres...i dunno.

Ohh a nice steering wheel...what is it?

Thanks Jon.

I may shoot myself in the foot with this comment and it may come back to haunt me like Christeen does :)).

Happy enough with the handling and already running pretty good BTCC soft tyres which only really need 2 laps to be on it properly.
Tony Gillam who owns team Hard running over 30 cars in all sorts of formulas convinced me to run these, plus last a Goodyear Race tyre guy helped me sort out a tyre pressure guide.
I will say that I would not mind trying a pair of mediums up the outside though at Brands to see what they are like.

I say this because with the Xtremes I found there mediums a second a lap faster round Brands.

Now to shoot myself in the foot. I have seen a high 52 second lap at Brands and think with the set up I now have plus the tyres, plus proper power and the 4.4 back in , I think I  can get well into the 51's which puts me right in the frame.

Coming back to tyres, your right about tyres and these guys.
My old mate Colin Voyce in the MK1 Castrol Escort, who I have raced against since we were kids, put it on the front row, then finished second which I was really pleased about for him, let Malcolm Harding in the MK2 Castrol Escort get to him overnight, because he wound him up by telling him, I'm bolting on a brand new set of tyres so I can beat you tomorrow!  Sadly Colin who is a bag of nerves at the best of times let this get to him.

I had a chat to Colin Sunday morning to try and calm him down, but it didn't help  :(

O' yes, Steering wheel,

Its a Momo donated kindly by Steve, however I am going to buy a suede wheel, because by the end of each race I was struggling to hang on to the leather wheel through Paddock Hill.
Fortunately I know the Momo UK brothers from hot rod days plus they race Thunder Saloons at times so I will get a deal  :great:

I've seen exhaust flames but never one reach this high. Considering how low to the ground Clive's exhaust is I think that's impressive :)
