The Intercooler is a modified  Apexi / Trust ,  which I still consider the best you can buy. At one stage I even put identical boost gauges on each side and plumbed them into the cab and there was litterally NO pressure drop across it, hence its always staggered people who know just how cool it stays.

Havent got to tell prople on here, poor flowing restrictive intercoolers just become, interheaters  ;)

Primary reason is not better cooling but more front end grip,  more front end grip, more front end grip, more front end grip,
If you hadn't guessed, I like front end grip as it equals more corner entry speed  :great:

Ref earlier Clive.

You should still be able todo code read as the standard ecu is in there. Worth checking and clearing.

No throttle is seperately controlled by ETV relay and fuse.
On ignition no start. Omp ssv and throttle body operate self check...on start... the pcm cuts power to the ETV relay so the signals go off momentarily...at that is is a check that the pcm hss control of it fail safe safety.

Need to check the ETV fuse and relay is clicking on off and that the throttle butterfly is moving open shut on start up check. So nothing fouling its movement.

Thanks Jon.
If its one of the big Mazda fuses, any chance you can remember the colour of the fuse

No mate its a little 1 in main engine fuse box..blue 15a ETV
So in your passenger footwell.

As things have been disconnected for welding it may have confused things so also battery off for 10 mins to reset and resync.
Has the intercooling pipework been off near the throttlebody? Worth checking butterfly can move freely etc.
The fuse is the first starting point and all the ecu plugs clicked in etv which im sure youve done.

No news yet, tried a pedal, a throttle body and all the other stuff you know about.

Pete has sent me an ECU but UPS deliveries have been delayed all week so I wont see it till monday  :(

Just bit the bullit and put faith in Christeen behaving and getting a throttle back this week.

Just booked a Brands test day for next Friday, lets me set the car up with the changes and gives me seat time to get back in the swing of things for the following week.

Fingers crossed I bolt the ECU on tomorrow and I have a throttle

Pleased you got back OK and huge huge thanks for finding that elusive broken wire, only took 6 hours  ;) ;)
No longer Cinderella, I can go to the ball after all  :great:.

Hopefully The Brands Test day will go OK and stay dry as I want to try my new WTC slicks and see what sort of times they will bring to see if I can be somewhere on the pace for Thunder Saloons.

Then to see if my new Extreme super soft Track Attack live for a 20 second race and also the times they produce,

Once Again Thank you Jon, God knows how we would have found that without your remembered knowledge  from when you wired the car.

So pleased with the car doing hard 1/2 hour sessions that made a good day Test Day at Brands Hatch today, mostly tyre testing and the car behaved perfectly even in this heatwave. Set my fastest ever lap round Brands but this was on the set of world touring car slicks I scrounged to use in Thunder Saloons.

In the afternoon I put my new Track Attack “road”tyres on and promptly lost loads of time. Excellent shakedown day for next Saturday at Snetterton.

The nice Window vent didn't work and had to stick an unsightly hose back on or die of heat exhaustion! Not sure the scoop brought down under bonnet temperatures, but I am sure it's giving more downforce onto the nose. :great:

I was told years ago that if you could even just break into a 54 second  lap at Brands with a saloon you had quick car, today's time (on slicks) was a 53.8 :) and I know that there's a little bit more to come from the idiot behind the wheel!. To give you an idea, the full blown Britcar Aston Martin team that was along side us,  was running 54's with one driver and high 51's with the co driver-------------- so not a huge time difference, but a bit of a money difference between the RX-8 and the Aston,  probably in the region of at least 300K to run that car and team of six professionals.

O' for a sequential gear box and being able to put a bit more boost into the car. With the amount of  professional teams there today, I am staggered they can still find the sponsors to fund them, blowed if I can find funding despite putting our portfolio out across all the major media site on the internet , still not complaining I'm still out there doing it------------my problem is I'm so competitive and I'm always going to want to show the world what an  RX-8 Rotary can really do on track so I'm always going to want to go faster!

Sounds like you had fun Clive you should have asked the Aston guys if you could show them how to make a faster car for 1/10th of the cost

Imagine if you had a sequential gear box, that would shave plenty of time off too?
