Quote from: Grant Monkhouse;857152Actually finished 3rd!! Hopefully these guys will sort you out through your re entry to competitive racing Clive:)

A 3rd a 2nd and a fourth wasn\'t bad for a team that only set up shop to go touring car in January against the manufactures works teams,

Very commited small privater team though and they even have some of the team living there for the season as it is made up of people who are good in their own fields from far and wide.

Anyone who saw the interview with the guy with the wooly hat saw the owner Tony Gilham who masterminds the three cars which are the Audi and the two Vecta\'s.

When I picked the RX-8 up they showed me the cars in detail and that even though they are different make body shells the subfames are regulation the engines are the same Swindon engines and the cars dimensionally are identical, funny how one car goes quicker than the other two though whichj goes to show the driver still plays a big part then.

I will confess that I did rib them after I told them that I don\'t like lots of negative, as I think it makes the car climb up on the camber,

They said, ahh but we run as much as 7 degrees on the back, my responce was that these touring car thingys are wrong wheel drive unlike the RX-8 :cool

Anyway good on them they shook the touring car world up today :Party

They sure did, had a full day of watching racing, 3 BTCC rounds and Jerez Moto GP, plus porche carrera cup and ginettas.

Where\'s the rx8 at now? Any fab work going on?

Quick update,

The car was shown at Japfest a week ago, after Kerim of Powergains Motorsport who\'s company is on board as one of the cars sponsor\'s started fabricating the exhaust manifold

As you will see due to Powergains who are going to venture into Circuit Racing with us along side their successful Drag Racing campaign with James Willday  , we now have a Turbo mounted :cool

 http://powergains-motorsport.com/

The MD of Zircotec came to see me and has taken the rear exhaust box away to ceramic the tail pipe where it goes through the body and they will also be coating the turbo and down pipe assembly when finished.

As you will see in the engine pictures Brise Fabrications has now finished the upper inlet

Apparently putting details of your car spec in your signature means the nice folks on exile-rotorsport think you\'re a fool.  I can think of no higher compliment!

It should, they produce excellent fabrication work and know from experience how to make manifolds flow correctly

Pictures will follow once complete :Thumbsup!

The Nippon Challenge was at Coombe monday 27th and i had a good look round the cars in the pits...and i think you\'ve nearly built a very competitive car. I definitely think yours will be presented in the highest standard.
The racing was excellent and really enjoyable to watch and big grid...front runner was a New age Impreza that pulled a good lead towards the end....( GT unlimited class i think).
Lots of different jap machinery including a GT0 3000 that was going well!.
Looks like a good choice of championship.

Wow, Real real nice of you to suggest this, a while back Tony (Exiled Viking) did as well on the RX8OC.

Lisa had never heard of this sort of thing but I have heard of this many times over the years either to let people just be "involved".

Like the guy who ran in the Indianapolis 500 with a car covered in fans signatures that let him make the race, or catastrophes like a National Hot Rod that burnt to the ground and fans donated money to get him out again, indeed he even won the World Championship the following years thanks to the fans.

Or the other way I have heard this happen is when a guy with a street drag car called Henry HiRise had his 671 blower stolen off its engine over night at an event!!

Bizarrely, you may have seen in our MRP section I have just lost thousands of pounds worth of anything made of iron or alloy, ie tools garage equipment etc with also 18 alloy wheels going and 6 were destined for the race car.

As I said on the other thread the fat rat gipsy weddings are now effectively banned from our household !
