Hi all...

Since owning my FD in October shes been a brilliant runner.

Bought stock it now has all the breathing bolt on mods and an Apexi ECU (yet to be mapped)

All was fine yesterday until I started driving home from a car meet, the car felt sluggish and it would only boost to 4psi max before tailing off. I couldnt find anything obvious under the hood. The engine sounds sweet, no different or suspicious noises from the turbos or elsewhere. Im sure it something simple. It stays at 4psi throughout the rev range.

Any advice on where to look will be great, im new so I dont know too much about abbreviated terms for relays, pipes etc.

Might be a split hose, check the Y pipe, the issue usually arise from the pipework being old which then splits.

Brett

Have you checked the gauge/sensor...?
Brap Brap Brap Brap

Nice one, ill check the y pipe, any particular large hoses or are they little vacuum ones

The boost gauge sensor you mean fella?.. Its a manual boost gauge and run off the inlet mani.

I think he is just asking if you have checked that the gauge is plumbed in ok, it might be a boost solinoid though due to the car being an FD, 5psi is usually spring boost on the turbos though, so it might be a vac line going to the solinoid or actuators that has split

Same issue here. Had a look in the rats nest again today and changed out the turbo solenoids with no joy.
Im also having very strange up and down idle for the first five minutes of starting, which only started recently possibly related?

Bobbit

low pressure is usually a loose/split pipe. First I would check all pipe work from the y-pipe to the elbow, take one piece off at a time and look at the pipe and connectors, flex each part slightly to open up any splits etc. Then pop it back on and move on to the next. once you have checked all the pieces and if you still haven\'t found the problem then it could be a faulty solenoid (rats nest issue) look here for how to test each solenoid: clicky
:Laugh LOL

Ive checked the boost solenoids by removing the pack and hooking a 12v up to each one to find that they are clicking... This means they work fine or not the case?

Hayward told me to do this.... Ive checked the plumbing to the turd blows, ypipe etc I cant see any breakages or splits.

Bobbit I really couldnt follow your guide, I got all confused and the pics dont work. (I need pics cos im dumb)
