Housing sealing help

Hi guys, 1st post, first question!  I am helping a friend freshen up his renesis engine, and I have a question regarding engine housing sealing.  

Aside from the the OEM black and orange housing seals, do we need to apply any sealant on the mating surfaces?  I assume we do, especially in the oil pan area...

You need a bit at the bottom, between the outer seal and where the sump bolts on, if that makes sense.
I used blue hylomar but I think there is Mazda stuff, also put some on the Dowel seals.
