I just bought 2 (both early FCs).. The vert is a turbo and on the dvla database as a 1.3.  The coupe is on the database as a 2.6.

My main problem is where I live in London the council charge you for the size of your engine because of emissions... bearing in mind that a car produces no emmisions when parked. 1300cc=75 quid / 2500+cc=391 quid!!!
Anyway even though the coupe is for sale I will try my luck with amending the V5 with as much printed documentation as possible, including a letter from Mazda.  From what people have said it is down to chance so if I get a rejection I will re-send to another local office and so on
