ok just installed a greddy front mount intercoler and apart from having a prob with the bov fitting its all in had to move a few bits but its in.

my prob its all finished except the bac valve there is no pipe on the intercooler pipeing to connect the bac pipes back up, i have a blanking plate for the bac valve but am running a chipped ecu so surly in need it????? where do i connect up the pipe too?

need help as i can drive home!!!!!!

billybobbooth

i also have a small vacume pipe that went from the intercooler to the front of the manifold do i just blank this off?

clive

If it\'s just to drive home simply pull off an intercooler joint so the car won\'t see boost this will get you home, then you can sort out the BOV nipple on an intercooler pipe later.

hope this helps
All the best Clive

it does but wont the car try to stall as it wont see movement past the afm?

trotter

i presume you have managed to get home OK!!

we don\'t have afm\'s - we have MAPs! And in anycase, you\'re engine will just revert to working as though it\'s naturally aspirated, it\'ll pull air in via the vacuum generated in the throttle body through the other end of the intercooler piping.
Work hard, play hard house :D

Yer it wouldn\'t run with air pipes off so bodged the stock intercooler on to get hone.

It does have afm coz its a big black cylinder before my air filter and also stalls if air pipe is off. If was just map it would run happly with air pipe off. All the map on the fc does is reads the boost not vacume level like newer map setups do. It needs a afm to read air flow if it gets no air flow it don\'t add fuel and dies.

Tried with pipes off just got lumpy then died and wouldn\'t start put on old intercooler and was fine. I\'ve got pipes made up now with extra pipes in for bac valve.

Thanks for help though as don\'t really wanna blow this engine up by doing something silly on my part.

trotter

glad you got home OK,

Sorry, i\'d presumed you were talking about an FD not an FC lol. D\'OH!!
