hi guys  im running over 600bhp & using a exeedy hyper twin plate but its horrible to drive, too on / off & snatchy & easy to stall, ive also tested a os giken str twin plate which is the same  can anyone  recommend a twin or triple plate clutch thats easy to drive like a stock one or as close as? thanks

HaywardRotary

Triple plate carbon is the only one that will do this for you.
Exedy make them but they are expensive.

I have an exedy triple carbon, normal ouput is 450 bhp with over 500 bhp at higher boost.

\'Feel\' is excellent, you don\'t need a heavy left foot and the car will pull away in first gear with about 1000 rpm.
I also tried an exedy single carbon, exedy metal ceramic and an ACT six puck. Other than the single carbon having a similar feel to a stock clutch, the rest needed a heavy left foot and needed a lot of revs before the car would pull away. Also they were \'on/off\', whereas the carbon clutches provide a smoother transition like a stock clutch would.

Hope this helps.

has anyone used a carbonetic  clutch or does anyone  rate them?

mjwebb48

I know steve had one in his car, broke Pips dyno at 777hp! I drove it on the trailer and it was as soft as a standard clutch! Spoke to Ross earlier as need to fit mine for Timeattack in Holland :), and he said it takes longer to fit because has custom slaving cylinder or something like that.
I know they were nearly 2k and he is doing them for about £1200, give him a call 01404891888

Perhaps also see if Ed has one of the new twin plate clutches ready for sale - they can apparently hold about the same power
