hey guys,

new to the forum and new to rotary ownership which you will soon find out! lol

picked up my new FD last saturday, fine example id say as it has all been built by Pip at WGT, including mapping, singl turbo conversion etc.... and really happy with it! anyway pics:

It needs a bit of TLC to be honest but nothing mega, which should make a great change to the normal types of projects i take on! lol

but this one is different, always wanted a rexxy and said id buy one before i moved out from home! so now i have the rex.... that means i gota find a house now, right?! lol

anyway, its 400bhp of happy days, but runningly safely at 320bhp which is more than enough for me!

couple of changes i want to make are:

-Feed front bumper with 99 spec lights
-Feed sidesteps
-Mazdaspeed MS01 wheels
-Maybe some bling rims?!:King
-Maybe despoiler
-remove current exhaust and screamer for a new quieter alternative
-remap and thorough check over at WGT

heres what i have done already! :Thumbsup!

replica feed bumper, new aftermarket 99 spec lights and under tray... Ebay... £10.50!!!!!! BARGAIN OF THE CENTURY!!!:Thumbsup!:Thumbsup!

AND FOR THAT PRICE I CAN MODIFY IT ALITTLE!!

carbon panels still need some work trimming and polishing but i think they look a bit unique and dappa! lol

also, didnt like the vents on the sides so filled then in and now ready for a prime and some paint! should look good!

and thats about it! oh i have some real nice bucket seats to go in (recaro pole positions) which are being retrimmed as we speak! lol

ill shut up now....:Talking1:Talking1 lol

will be updating as and when and thanks for looking guys!

cheers,

Jordan

well thats a mysterious question indeed, and indeed a question that i think many people will ask.... but hey, iv got no secrets...

Agreed formal evaluation with the car + certificate: £6000

i paid £3500!

now i know a fair amount of people on here will have seen it for sale for a while at silly money.... but i did my digging and did my research, including a half hour phone call with P:ip at WGT who did all the work on the car and said it was in fine working order with no flaws.... buy it!.... so i did!

alot of people missed out on a bargain there cause i have a service history and invoices from WGT inches thick, up to october 2010, worth a STUPID ammount of money!

billyjones

fair play, good luck with the modding and hope it goes well and see some more pics soon.

**Update

ok well some of you may know, i bought some Mazdaspeed MS01\'s to go on the FD. they are 16\'s with 7j fronts and 8 j rears.... thought they would look the trick, so i set out on a big refurb, polished lips and gold centres with some lovely new Kumho rubber....

.... looked epic! then i went to fit them.... Ah.... wait.... wheel doesnt turn! :( was getting caught on part of a bottom arm nut and beaching it, so those wheels unfortunatley got put away and up for sale :(

anyway, to carry on the adventure, i was fitting the £10.50 bought FEED style bumper, which didnt fit well at all, so again, it was put to one side....

i got intouch with 2 firms that made this bumper, RotaryArt and Aerokit (replikit)

RotaryArt\'s reply to my email was snotty and in somewhat rude, so i thought :censored::censored::censored::censored: you they obviously dont want my money! so i got in touch with Aerokit. now i know their reputation isnt that good but as i emailed, they were currently remoulding that specific bumper to fit better, so i waited 3 weeks and placed an order!

it came next day and went to trial fit it and it was spot on!!! no alterations at all!! really pleasant guys to deal with and did exactly what it said on the tin! very happy!

i knew the front wings had some rust on them but wanted to wait to repair them until i was fitting the new bumper so i could blow the paint in nicely!

anyway pics:

perfect colour match! but it wasnt NU vintage red so i had it scanned at the paint suppliers! came up 98% Toyota Super Red 5!

looking good id say!! will look godd when i put my carbon panels on and lights in and bang the freshley painted efini emblem on! cant wait! :D

also made this Carbon Fibre fuel filler cap cause i didnt want to pay £125 for one!!! robbing dogs!!

and that concludes todays work!

will post pics up when i build it back up!

cheers,

Jord

cheers man! :Thumbs-up

always here to try and give a hand where i can! :wave

The dutchman

Very nice work!! Looks good.
If you want can you maybe tell me how it works with the carbon? How to get it coverd in carbon. Very interested in that.

jord13b

well basically its a skinning process. its simple on simple shapes and very difficult one more complex shapes....

anyway, you basically get som real carbon fibre weave and some 2k epoxy resin and just keep pouring the resin on the carbon on the part, if that makes sense?

then eventually, you just sand all the epoxy flat and polish! simples!

**Update: Finished and fitted!

ok, so put it all together this morning! misjudged the fact that i forgot to give a good tollerence fit with added paint! so abit out of place in some areas, but mostly ok!

We shall call it an interferance fit! :D lol

Pics:

Just needs a flat and a buff during the week and all shall be good!

then need to wait and save some pennies for new wheels, bonnet and sidesteps!

cheers,

Jord
