Regular servicing. Let it warm up before driving and cool down before turning off

Hi there,
I don\'t use mine every day all I tend to do is change the oil and filter every 1500 miles plugs and fuel filter every 12 months, and as above really never shut down cold always let it warm up before giving it full beans! and the off boost for about 10 - 15 minutes before shut down on the way home.

welcome mo!!! so you got a rex afterall :) get some pics up!!

a good tip i had, when turning the engine off is to hold the car at 3k revs for a couple of seconds then plant the accelrator as you switch off the ignition, helps to stop it flooding

redline it once every trip (obviously when its up to operating temp)
regular oil changes ( i do every 3k)
regular plug changes (5k)
drive without boost until oil up to temp
drive last mile without boost
buy a boost gauge
buy a battery optimiser to keep the battery strong
buy a pfc and get it mapped by a pro
use only shell V power or similar

try not to get the rotary paranoia and just enjoy driving, Best tip i was given when i bought mine, 4 years back

All the above, plus give at least full throttle on every drive, mentioned in the Mazda manual to help eliminate the build up of deposits.  Don\'t allow the oil to get dirty.  Ensure your coolant is in good condition, if you don\'t know how old it is replace with fresh.

Ensure the reliability mods are completed - do a search on here or any other rotary forum.

change your gear oil and fuel filter, it\'s probably never been done.
