brake problem ?

havent diven the car for a week but took her out for a spin and noticed the brake pedle was really hard and solid when trying to press, my cap for the brake fluid is cracked ,could this be the problem or does it sound like something else ?

Although your cap is cracked, if there is no fluid loss then that\'s not the problem.

If the pedal was really really hard it could be a Brake servo fault .

Pump the pedal with out the car running to expel any vacuum left in the servo, then start the car and after running for a couple of minutes the pedal should feel softer, this will give and indication of the possible problem.
