Hi Guys

Was wondering if REDEX was ok to use in an FD3s RX7? It says suitable for petrol injector, turbocharged and intercooled engines.

Thanks :Thumbs-up

Good question, I used to regually use this on my Peugeot. Interested to see the answers...

matthewbellamy

Indeed :) Anyone care to answer this? I have to go and fill up in a couple hours and would like to try this

i have put another brand in mine without any probs

I used some in my FC, no issues and I did feel it was slightly better, the issue is that the secondary injectors kick in at about 5psi, so I would have to be on boost to clean out the secondaries...shame :D

B.Martin

How unfair... Redex is forcing you to boost!!

The main part of Redox is Naphtha hydrotreated heavy, this is solvent made from the distillate process; same way as petrol is made and is closely linked to petrol.  I assume the redox dissolves the gums and deposits within the fuel system, leaving it cleaner.

Just use Vpower

"V-Power also contains higher concentrations of detergents and other additives to help clean the engine and smooth its operation."

B.Martin

hmmmm, is V-power advised on a UK spec FC3S? Although i\'m sure you FD boys probably won\'t know the answer to that?

it\'ll only do you good (apart from your wallet, it\'ll do nasty unspeakable things to your wallet).

i don\'t see the point of fuel additives... if your injectors are blocked, get them flowed properly on a machine. if your engine has some carbon in it, well, drive faster!

B.Martin

I used to use it with my last car, but somone told me not to use in my FC as it was UK spec?

!!!!????? V power is higher octane fuel, why not use it in a FC ?, it has better det surpression then all fuels available at the Pump, its Tescos 99 Ron with it bio componant you have to becareful of , as you would need to remap it as it requires more fuel flow in a turbo rotary to stop it going lean.

V Power for the win

Ah okay, well there is only really esso out here. Is there version just as good?

Pantera Chris

Vpower is the best fuel available. This has been tested and tested time and time again. The Tecos stuff is normal fuel with extra octane added to it so doesnt contain the cleaning agents that Vpower provides.

Esso is fine, its Tesco in the UK you have to be careful of due to the 5% ethanol they stick in it, which technically will give leaner afrs , to cure you need to up to flow to bring it back up to the same afr
