Where does everyone get their silicone hoses from for their TII? I brought the coolant ones thinking my engine bay look would be greatly improved and i then realised you can only see one of them!! Any one know where i can get the breather hose for the stock filter? Or any others for that matter, or is someone going to pee on my fire and tell me its all a custom job :2Confused

edit - i\'ve attached a pic with the hoses i\'d like coloured circled!

You won\'t be able to see much as there is a lot of stuff in the way like the viscous fan and cover and the air pump/emissions stuff, you could change the intercooler pipes :) mine are blue :D

B.Martin

Yeah where would i get a set from in purple though? Any idea, i was thinking about that 90 degree bend on the cooler pipe but as i\'m not infront of the car couldn\'t remember if there was a pipe coming off it. Don\'t think there is? I\'ll check later, i was looking at the 90 degree bends but don\'t know what bore size, leg length, wall size and stuff i need for it to be a direct replacment!

Cool, I now know where to get the 100mm double hump hose for my T88 inlet :)

Took me 4 or 5 links to find a company that did funky colours, but looks good to me! I\'ve bookmarked them too. Other people might be cheaper though if you just want Red, Black or Blue.

m1tch

Yeah, it looks like their standard is blue, but I guess you only need to get hoses once, so might as well make is cool lol I do like the flame designed ones lol looks like some decent thick walled stuff as well! Top find that man!

Nice one mate. I forgot to take my tape measure home last night to get the measurements of the 90 degree bend on the stock IC, need to mesure the breather pipe as well. That would look good in the same colour as the 90 deg\' ic bend and the rad pipes, basically i need all custom stuff to \'silicone up\' the engine bay.

Okay...

I\'m very sorry to keep asking daft questions, but i tried to measure both the hose that needs blocking properly and the tmic elbow but couldn\'t get the tape mesure to bend how i wanted it to.... And i\'m very impatient and get irritated quickly in the hot sun :Giggle

Does anyone know what size 90 degree silicone bend i need to replace the stock one with a much better looking one? Also can any kind soal tell me waht size bung i need for the pipe pictured below with some tape and a hose clamp on it? (its just below the BOV trumpet, can\'t miss it) I tried to measure and it looked like just over 25mm, can anyone confirm. Don\'t want to get the wrong size blanking peice.

Thanks

Anyone help me out with this? I promise i\'ll be quiet for a bit after this :Giggle

Just be sure to get decent stength hoses.

For water hoses you want the ones with fabric strengthening in - shaped hoses are the best, as you don\'t have to curve them to fit - but I\'ve only seen the 2 rad hoses for those.

For air / vac hoses - make sure the wall thickness is good - for larger hoses you want 5mm at leat.

For the smaller vac hoses - such as to the BOV - the wall thickness needs to be 3-4mm otherwise the hose will collapse together when under vacuum and the hose won\'t be doing it\'s job - particularly for longer runs of hose !

Right okay, do you know the exact size of the 90 degree intercooler pipe by chance? So I can order a replacement silicone one? I also need a blanking peice for the pictured hose, you wouldn\'t know it\'s width off hand would you?

Prof

That bung hole is 20mm internal diameter - a radiator blanking plug fits exactly :), but a wine cork will also work - there isn\'t a large amount of pressure on this.

The intercooler to turbo pipe - which I guess is the one you mean - is about 49mm internal diameter - that\'s going to be the closest fit - I used a 90 degree \'long tailed\' hose section and cut the hose to fit, but I have seen a kit of hoses (2 hoses - not really a kit ;) ) that replace this part and the one from the intercooler to throttle body.

Thanks prof, I think that\'s the one. It\'s the 90 degree elbow that directly joins the BOV, you can just see it at the top of the pic with the jubilee clip around it - it has the criss/cross pattern on it.

Again thanks for your help, not sure what all us 2nd Gen\'ers would do with out you Prof!

We sure would spend a lot more time working things out without him!

Prof, what\'s the ID of the general vacuum hoses? I want to replace the one between the actuator and turbo outlet, and potentially some other bits, so might as well buy 1m or so.
