Need some help guys! starting issues!

hey people, had an engine rebuild about 1300miles ago and 200 more was meant to take it back to h.m.e for a service, however me and my mate was in my car last night, came off a dual carriage way approaching a roundabout, but car didnt idle, revs kept on dropping resulting in the engine to cut off!

managed to bump start it but again got to some lights = engine cut off

was told starter motor was on the way out which isnt helping the issue with starting the car nor the battery. i have got a apexi fc poer commander as well but everything is stock except exhaust and induction.

drove from my mates house to mine after 2 more breakdowns however when i got to mine the engine idled for the first time in hours, turned ignition off and car started back again no problem?!

went to start it again today but didnt start again same issues today as last night.

we did notice that all the settings on the commander were 0! managed to get settings back again but sometimes it started but sometimes it didnt but same issues with idle came back! really confused!

obviously need a new starter motor but could it be problem with my apexi ecu causing this???

just dont want to go around my car replacing parts that dont need to be changed!
