:Partywell the rx7"s on the road for 3 days anyway. motd her on mon , tues she needed pads and what a dilema.......just took her to work and ting, tiing the fan belt snapped on the way home lol.....:eek:a little kiddy back on ma mates recovery truck.......hopin to show her at eglinton park on sunday, classic car show.......a little help . temp gauge aint workin? weres the switch located on the engine lol...

to test your temp gauge, look on the side of the engine just below the oil filter and you\'ll see the oil pressure switch.... a big round thing with a wire going to it! Behind this, screwed into the block, is water temp sender no.1
Pull the wire off it ( the yellow and white one)and earth it onto the engine block or body... the gauge should go to max.... the other water sender ( no.2) is by the thermostat housing on the top of the water pump housing.... this second sender controls the auto choke return.

Put another fan belt on it and stick another spare in the boot.... if it shreds again, your viscous fan is knackered....

superb , i will check asap...last mot was 93 , shes been stored all that time,spent wkend scrappin and stone chipping the underside,waited 5 wks on the exhaust gettin welded and dvla at its best arggggggggghhhhhh

you\'ve probably got the dreaded viscous fan woes then if the cars been off the road for a while... they hate inactivity!!
You could try freeing off the actuator pin on the front of the viscous coupler but if that doesn\'t work, bin it and put an electric fan on... miles better and it\'ll release a bit more power too.

:Thumbsup!the fan was in the boot when i got her,,,,had to fit a new radiator ,,but thats a thought about the elec coolin fan,cheers

tried the above the gauge didnt move. although it was a single yellow wire goin to the switch. i may have to investigate ..
