Going away next week and wondered if using my phone on line to surf the net will be any more expensive than using it in the UK as per my contract.

Is it the same as using for your phone when out of the country - a lot more dosh.

A LOT more expensive and positively painful in some countries :( Where you heading and for how long ?

Best call your current network provider and ask them about options for where you are going.

If going to be a lot of use then buying a sim in-country can be cheaper.
I\'ve a large collection for Europe now :)

As above very expensive 3G roaming charges usually go up £60 before they are capped if I remember correctly.

off hand i think t-mobile was about £7.50 per 1MB.

if you go abroad lots and just want to check emails then get a kindle lol
free 3g but can only check emails.

or get local simcard but make sure they have instructions how to download the setting to your phone.

Off to Portugal for 10 days.

I\'m with orange. Not really bothered about the net just thought if I had some spare time.

What about emails, they come to my phone as well - would replying be more.

oh, if you do use your uk contract abroad and depending what phone and email you use. then best change the setup on how you receive emails.
its all charged per Mb.
if your phone checks email every 15 min then the usage will all add up. maybe change setting so you manually check emails when you bored.
will save some money that way.

As i say mate, if your on orange and are connected to 3g there will be roaming charges just for being connected trust me on this. I think as mentioned before they cap them @ £60.

Best to ring orange. (i was with orange)
