Hello again everyone,

Got a couple of (hopefully quick) questions that I hope someone here can help with...

I am about to re-fit the engine (after almost 2 years, lol) and it obviously has no oil in the sump and no oil in the oil cooler or any pipes, so I was wondering how much oil I was going to have to buy...

1) How much oil is needed for a standard oil change

2) How much oil is there in total in the entire system (including cooler, filter, etc)

Thanks in advance :)

(Hopefully within the coming months I will finally have a road worthy RX7)

hope it helps

Don\'t start the car having just poured it in. Just disconnect the spark plugs and then you can turn the key to crank it over lots until the oil light in the dash goes out, connect the plugs, and start.

Thanks very much guys, that\'s exactly what I wanted :)

I\'ll let you all know how it goes next week.... Hopefully it\'s gunna be up and running quite quickly, but there\'s always a few problems with things like this (I bet I miss a vac hose somewhere, lol ;))

Dont disconnect the plugs. Horrible things may happen if you mix them up...
Just remove the EGI fuse from the engine bay\'s main fuse box. :)

OK, sounds like a plan... Thanks

If all goes well, Friday is the day of starting... It\'ll be the 1st time it\'s been run in over 2 years and the 1st time I\'ll have ever seen it running at all, since I bought it with a busted everything as a project :)

It is a plan, but they\'re easy to remove - just pull the leads out of the coils is what I meant - not remove the spark plugs! Easy to separate the leads without mixing them up! I never worked out what fuse it was tho :p

Small note - if you do, it\'ll drop some fuel into the engine as you crank it over, probably resulting in a backfire when you connect them back up and start the car :p
