Hi Mick, most likely this was an import as auto wasn\'t generally available here when 1st Gens were new. So they really are rare in UK.

Saw it go through ebay last month and thought it looked quite interesting. But.....didn\'t it have some rust problems?

Your address says Boston and you\'re an Overseas Guest......does that mean the car will be going back overseas?

What\'s your plans for it? Love to know.

Cheers   Dave

Hi every one,l live in a village called Algarkirk, near Boston Lincolnshire,so the auto car is staying in England.l will have to try and up date my personal  details, thanks for your reply, any help with details of this car would be great,is there any other way of finding the history, the car has rot on the rear chassie, door on passenger side needs work on the lower edge, petrol tank leaks when full,"the costs of fuel l can not see this will be a problem" and 2 tyres l am going to get another set of wheels for the car the ones on there are elford peperpots, thanks again

Hi Mick.

You can get a history file from DVLA but it will cost you a Fiver or so. There\'s no history of the car on the Club Forum that I know of (and I\'ve been logging every 1st gen for a few years now).
Does the Mag Editor have any history?

Seek out the thread this week in our 1st Gen Forum by jakeyd07. Because in there is a lot of helpful stuff, including Ian\'s guide to structural rust.

Fuel tanks are a common problem. Not easy to find replacements.

Attached is the \'1st Gens Breaking List\' for May 2011. That might be of use. Note that a rare Series 1 Auto is breaking now in Poole.....I don\'t know if your auto box is the same, being a Series 2

Keep posting any problems

WELCOME Mick - I really liked the look of this car but the Dragon just gave me one of those glances when I mentioned it so the very best of luck with it.
As Dave says the \'auto\' box is not common at all with these motors but to be honest I fancy one too one day..

One of you 1st jobs is to find a name for the rex!
You\'ll get plenty of assistance, hints, technical information and suggestions here so don\'t be afraid to ask the forum - we\'re a big family here and will help out best possible.
One thing you must do though - plenty of pics, we just love them.

Hi Mick, as I say Dave (owns SIB) is very, very interested in the Elfords.  Could you please email me at cliff dot c at virgin dot net and attach a few photos and a contact telephone number would be handy too.  I\'ll pass these details over to Dave who would be in touch with you nodoubt.
As for a price?  All I can say is I bought a set of 5 genuine Elfords (all tyres need replacing too) within the last 6-8 weeks for £10 each
