Just the turbo housings are used I\'m guessing the internals are hybrid. I think it may be mentioned on the thread somewhere. Pub bragging rights!

Quote from: gonzoninja;761428to be honest I don\'t get a lot of it. He seems to have an awful lot of spare cash, but hey if that\'s how he wants to spend it, it\'s up to him.

not sure about the F40 turbos though...they must be 20 years old...seriously there is nothing better now?! What about one of those variable-vane turbos out of the 911 turbo...or am I being silly?

For anything you find confusing or as you put it "don\'t get" it\'s better to ask Ross, as he is doing everything. The turbos were also his recommendation. Initially I wanted a Greddy T88, but didn\'t want it to be too laggy, so went for the twin set up based on Ross\'s recommendation. Apparently these turbos had very little usage and they are in very good condition.
The only problem I have with the build is that, it is taking far too long than it should, and Im not happy with the progress of it all.
The hydrauclic bullshyte has been removed, so now, it has the aragosta suspensions.

Nigel, welcome to the world of "projects". My project nearly took 2 years to get to the 50 percent. I am still working on it and it seems that it will never end. Trust me..

I was hoping you\'d read this and answer some questions.

So what was the deal with the hydraulics?

I have answered this already in my previous post above  :)

Who is doing the work for you? and have you paid for the cost of the project up front? I doubt it mate. I have already paid for the cost of the build, hence Im complaining about the time it\'s taking, but never mind... it won\'t be long now I hope.

RobMatthews

custom projects always take a while to do, and are very very difficult to put a time on, im sure ross is going as fast as possible whilst maintaining the quality workmanship they produce!-better to have it finished to a high standard than to get it back \'thrown\' together!

I for one, cant wait for it to be finished,as it will have the one bodykit in the world i really like and cant afford(well i could but when it costs more than most standard rx7\'s i would be afraid to drive it!).

I see you say it has been removed but could you explain what was the thinking behind it, how it would have worked etc.

I\'ve never seen anything like it, am sort of curious as to what it was all about.

Good choice with the aragostas by the way, suspension i aspire to have one day :)

Mate, I am very straight forward person. I pay for the parts and work, before the builder starts on my car....It\'s just the nature of the tuners as they want to produce the best work. So your car will b ready soon.  Pip at WGT is doing work on my car, previously I had a different tuner. Pip takes his time but his work is up to the standard. He is at the moment workin on my Motec ECU. Pips work and map is A top noch! Good luck with your project..

I was following the progress on this car from the link in the first post and thought \'fair play, someone has a few quid and wants to spend it on a rex, should look good\'. From the quote above you sound full of yourself and TBH a bit of a knob. Oh well, at least the car should look good when its finished.

As a side note, why do people pay for the whole project up front!? The project would have moved much more quickly if you had payed in installments for work completed as the project progressed. It gives no incentive for a tuner to work quickly if they have secured all your cash. They will be concentrating on obtaining new work/money as they don\'t have to keep you happy if they\'ve got all the cash!

Well paying for the project up front was demanded or basically no work would be done. I can understand that, as doing such a big project does cost a lot for the tuners too. And the overheads, and paying staff or other craftsmen for the customisation etc. But in my case it has taken a bit longer. Anyway, no point complaining about that now.

As for me being full of myself lool, all I can say is don\'t be a judgemental d**khead. And even if I was full of myself, what are you gonna do about it ? Stop being a foul mouthed c**t, I have joined here to talk about cars not about how big my ba**s are. And don\'t get the wrong impression I\'m your usual friendly guy :D

I can understand paying for parts up front, thats a given. But surely labour is an ongoing expense and can be paid monthly or whatever in installments, no? As you say, already agreed terms so no use crying about it.

"The only problem I have with the build is that, it is taking far too  long than it should, and Im not happy with the progress of it all."

No, not complaining at all.... :Talking1

Your post came across very condescending, which was ironic as the person you aimed it at isn\'t short of a few quid either I\'m sure. :Ladys-man

Maybe I am a c**t, what are YOU going to do about it? I\'ve been called worse :chat

Anyway, I\'m interested in the build of your car. Happy to see a rex being pampered rather than broken and scrapped!

Mir

Guys, there is no need to argue in an uncivilised manner. We all work hard to fund our lives and cars. I would say LET THE CARS DO THE TALKING instead of us (Ref: Fast and furious Tokyo Drift, this was said by the girl before the very first race lolll) :) I am ready just before Rotor Stock 8 so... everyone is welcome to race me.

Nigel best of luck with your built. I can see you have spent a lot of money on your car and I seriously hope that you enjoy it as well and also beat various skylines, Subaru, Evos and 20B RX7 FDs :)

PDALE, I know what you are saying and I am aware that you know my car and enthusiasm for rotary really well. As I said above, let the cars do talking not us..... I hope this matter is not going to get further and we all will forget what has been said previously..
