QuoteOh, and Cadwell would not be complete without Malcolm\'s brakes making another appearance

Again! Really? Bloody hell!
I don\'t need to upgrade my stock turbo to beat your ass!

Get your finger out, get it on the road and start driving it then!!! (B.Martin 25/2/12)

Oi! I think Arnie_O (Aston) is now the "brake pad eater King"! He put a brand new set of ET500 front pads on his car at ~10.30am and had virtually no pad left at 5pm. At least my pads had seen track action at Brands Hatch, Blyton Park and Japfest, as well as several months road use before expiring yesterday.

I think Aston was trying too hard to catch me in the afternoon sessions :Laugh

Aston, I wondered how long it would take for my "provoking" to get a reply :Giggle

Hmmmm, nine minutes, almost as long as your pads lasted  - only teasing, glad it\'s not just me with pad abuse tendencies!

Casey

^^^Yeah, good point Jason. Anyone who has any photos and vids, please post them in this thread so we can keep things in one place. I know it might take people a while to get the pics and vids sorted so be patient (some of us have only just got home!). I have a few videos I need to process and put up on u-tube before linking here.

Excellent day with excellent people what more can I say------------------but I will :chat

Seriously we had the perfect English morning day at what has to be one of the most scenic tracks on the planet,

Couple of incidents, one was the sad loss of the black RX-8 powered kit car piloted by (I think ) Tony\'s (antnicuk ) cousin, plus the close close near disaster from the kid who nearly wrote off Andre\'s RX-8 with the Toyota banger racer that Dom has already shown above after he tried to lean in the car and start it in gear :Hammer .

Talking of banger racers it took a while to find my Rotary powered way past two big engined Beemers that were racing each other and  had more grunt than a Gorilla eating a bunch of bananas  :rollin:rollin:rollin:rollin( Dom and Jason please stand up :Giggle:Giggle )

Must admit I finally came away pleased that I had finaly got to grip with the track because Park corner had driven me mad because I could never get into it late enough or stable enough :(

Also good to see Tony (antnicuk ) have a good outing after previous problems, plus Jim (lennycarloff) showing yet again that you don\'t need a big buck car to go around the track after yet another brilliant showing in his EGI :Santa

lastly well done Malcolm for the organisation and roll on Oulton as it was awesome in the wet so it  should be amazing in the dry (never raced at Oulton so I haven\'t drven it in the dry "yet" )
All the best Clive

I never change a pad once :Giggle

Although I think I will be investigating the level of pad on my rears now. Plus locking up in to corners did make things very interesting. Was better with 28psi but it was still mental. Amazing to think there is a bump at the end of Park Straight that completely screws up non ABS braking. Nick said heavy brake, let go over the bump then brake again !

Would that be the battle between 1300cc and what was it, 3900cc ?:chat

p.s. Good to see you Jason even with pis.ston power, whoops added one "s" too many :Giggle

I drove Oulton 2 wks ago in lovely summer weather (even got sunburnt) and its an amazing track. Easily Oulton and Cadwell are the best tracks I\'ve driven !

Yep i can testifuy to that beemer battle also, was getting a little annoyed at the M3 that i was all over in the corners but then planted its foot in the streight... only to find out that it was one of our own once they had come in.

There was no way i was following Clive (Yoda) through that overtaking maneuver, though i was gagging to try and hand on to the back of him (for all of the 100 yards that it would have been)

Awesome Day, Thanks to Casey for the work put in, and to Clive for the loan of the tools to do the pads with (yes i will be needing some more but also seeking some advice on how not to kill them so quickly next time)

The bunch that went where awesome as always, and very few incidents of other drivers being idiots and lot letting you past even when you where quicker. The only real annoyance for many of us was a Caterham driver that seemed to enjoy holding us all up throughout the day. only to have him fall off of the track (trying to push it too hard) in front of me going through "Park" you would not believe the pleasure we all got from that one.

hopefully i will be able to see myself in to the direction of Olton as i am told by those that have been thats its an equally awesome track.

Till the next time...

lol clive we all know rotarys are 2.6 and my poor little shopping car had 2.9. i may have to invest in some brakes and tyres to level the playing field ;)
