i bought mine just before i turned 21 in may. had paid £800 for the year (sept-sept) on my old car, cost me a further £213 for the remainder of the year. been looking around now for renewal and its around the £1000 mark. that will be 4yrs driving, 4yrs ncb no crashed no points

im 34 declared all mods on compare the market it was something ridiculous like £8500, went to adrian flux and was £650 fully comp with a £100 excess and i have 3 ncb

u might have to put up with it for a year or two or buy a cheap daily drive and have that as a second car i was in the same spot 3 years ago 2300 back then and still paying over 1k atm
and plz give the kid a break im not a silver spoon kid and i can still be here today enjoying a nice car that we are all enjoying if he loves the car like i still do after 3 years then im sure he work it out some how.

It makes absolutely no difference to insurance as the Rx7 is rated as a 2.6 on insurance company databases and still a group 20. The only way it would make a difference is if they are led to believe its engine is a 1.3 (i.e a transplant), in which case your insurance will be invalid.
