Advice on removing the carpet please.

It doesn\'t seem that I can remove the centre console without taking the whole dash out and i\'m not going that far.

I\'ve reached the point [in the pic] where the carpet just doesn\'t want to move.

Is there anything left to undo?

Also is the carpet one piece over the tunnel under the front of the dash, linking  the footwells?

While I\'ve got the heater control out I need to replace some of the bulbs, I only have one or two that work, how do I access the bulbs.

Thanks

John

Hi John

From memory, centre console is held in by 2 screws up behind the top air vents - pry them out carefully and you\'ll find the 2 screws going upwards into the dash, and 2 down near the gearstick.

The carpet is in one piece under the dash.

The bulbs in the logicon (heater control) are those twist in types - they rotate about 90 degrees and drop out, but you probably need to take the logicon apart to get at them - from memory one of the cables is very short and quite fiddly to undo - but the whole unit does come out so you can work on it easily.

If you are struggling to find the bulbs, you can replace the bulb in the twist fitting using those wire ended ones - Maplin sell something suitable.

Hope that helps...

That point is where the carpet join other side. I Thot u have removed the centre console in the picture already? To removE the dash there\'re two bolts at each side of the dash where the side vent is. A few on the front windscreen air vent. One behind the warning light unit. Two behind ash tray. Two at the steering column. And some plugs near the steering column as well. That\'s all I can remember on top of my head.

Hope that helps :)

The carpet can and could slide from underneath the centre dash but it is held in place by a single \'raised knobble\' just something that keeps it located, if you can get it passed that somehow then it might slide underneath.

Carpet out - had to chop the old one a bit but the nice new red DIY job is going in quite well.

Will post pics when it\'s finished

I just chopped mine originally too. Would have been nice not to, but it\'s OK...

Bit of a mission but like the result, cheap too, even Grinder Price

I think being a cab made it a lot easier.

Just need to buy a bit more to do the bottom of the door cards

Very tasty! Good choice. Where\'d you get it from?

Very nice! Not too dissimilar to my OEM interior, though much brighter :)

Loving it though, very nice job! Looks professionally done as well, congrats on the result! :D

The photos do flatter it a little, there had to be a couple of cuts in the footwell to make it lie flat.

Bought it from Allied Carpets off a roll, 1mt x 4mt £20.00

Probably won\'t last long but at that price cheap enough to replace.
