Hi guys just trying to post some pics of my new car but cant work out how to upload the pics (hangin my head in shame lol) so need help on that 1 hehe.

its a red b reg 1984 rx7 with origional 12a engine 114000 miles without rebuild (still chuggin away hehe) i got it off ebay for £400 bargin buy considering my first drive of it was 5 hours long and nearly 300 miles (dorset to york)

have a few problems with it need to source some new doors as both have rust in the corners i would weld them up but the windows have pretty much seized up and dont want to strip them down to have to replace them later on and the drivers elec mirror doesnt work.

there is water getting into the boot space had a wuick look but cant see any obvious holes or broken seals there was also water under the back seats but i think thats from before the welding was done.

The water level indicator light comes on every now and then and stays on for the rest of the journey - i think this is just air in the system as the rad and expantion tank are both full.

what do u guy reckon about the names: the red baron or the destroyer (i have a grey primera named the batleship lol) other ideas welcome.

Ive had to do a bit of work so far replaced the fuel tank and had to modify one of the spark plug leads (the contact had been pulled into the rubber too far so had to cut off an inch or so to get it to connect properly ill change the leads as soon as tho only a temporary measure, i stripped out the back seats and lap belts as im trying to modify the rear seat belts for my little \'un to ride legally but got a good plan for that (have to wait till pay day tho ) ill post some pics of what ive done in due time and when i have worked out how to post them lol.
Altogether its in really good condition for its age runs and drives well & once ive sorted thease few niggles it will be used every spare second i get lol.

cheers guys,  Rob

Welcome.
Doors easy to find, but in the right colour,you\'ll have to wait a few months.
Water in boot, probably drainage holes blocked under glass hatch, poke through with wire clears them or could be rubber hatch seal.

Hiya Rob-welcome to 1st gen ownership. The easiest way for you to upload pictures is to get a photobucket account as I don\'t think you can directly upload (think you have to be paid up). It\'s easy to do once you get the hang of it just upload them to photobucket then copy and paste the IMG code into your posts and up they pop.

Any questions just ask there is a few of us floating about.

Seized/sticky windows, easiest fix spray silicone spray down window runners, makes them wizz up & down,if windows don\'t work, usually switch in console or more unlikely motor. You can take switches apart & clean contacts.

the seal is fine but the drainage holes have seen better days ill clean them out as soon as i get chance cheers, Rob

i have some spray hiding in my work van somewhere so ill give it a try the motors are workin the passenger window lowers by about 2 inches but the drivers side is only half an inch or so with great difficulty lol

Happy days-whats your plans?

sanbob

yea gonna fix the niggles and get her resprayed make her look good as new lol :evillaugh its fully roadworthy so gonna enjoy driving her (£400 cheaper to insure than the battleship) on that note still need to name her but cant really go for the red baron as im not sure what colour to respray :D:D

captainbizzaro

Looks like it was the same colour red as Stu\'s (syebba) before it was sprayed the brighter colour. They look good when buffed up in that shade, could do with returning the bumper strips to black though in my opinion.

syebba

yep sunrise red.
Is the engine bay red too?
