Was this standard in Japan? I know in Initial D, the FCs there got it, as well as loads of pics on the net. But I got the US parking lights (amber), and European models seem to have parking lights in the same housing as the turn signal, just a separate bulb and reflector.

Can anyone confirm this? I would like to find myself a pair of FTP with parking lights.

the jdm models have seperate side light and indicator.
it was uk model that has the ftp and then side light and indicator in one unit.

And the US model. As I got, with amber indicator/parklight/DRL.

But it seems like the NL guy in here had the UK ones too, which would be strange.

This one got the park lights with the turn signals, as the US and UK got, and afaik, Euro too.

Hard to figure this one out :/

not sure about us ones. i htink the red one has led in the side light. maybe their indicator stay on and when you indicate then it flashes on/off?

louis, uk cars have basically a blank clear cover where the jdm side lights sits so when you flash the light shines through that slot rather than popping up (as jdm cars do)

Okay I dont understand what you are saying here, but I understand the americans, so I will try again.

Flash-to-pass: Those in front of the popups, blank normally
turn signal: Those amber ones that blink the way you turn
DRL/park light: Those that stay on all the time, blank in front, red in the back.

Now, DRL/Park light in the flash-to-pass, not with the turn signal.

I know it exists, but where?

ahhhhhhhh ;)

in my JDM model - the lenses just under the head lights have a light in them - so these are my side lights ( pop ups stay down )

if i flash , then the lights raise , flash and then lower

according to "prof" there is a relay undet the glove box - you can remove this - so when you puts your sidelights on , the lights stay down BUT shine thru the FTP lenses

failing that - you need JDM FTP and some re-wiring

Hope this helps - if not - then im really confused at what you are trying to achieve ;)

Could always do a bit of rewiring so that the headlight motors and lights are independent. If you loom through the wiring diagrams it can be worked out. Though leaving the lights on may cause things to get hot, hence they don\'t come like that as standard

i think he means the car has ftp but the sidelights are also in the same slot as the ftp lens.
maybe need to rewire as mentioned.

i was looking through this thread
http://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=733689&page=6

and us cars are similar to jmd ones.
one thing i found is they have the amber (side indicator type) lights on the rear trim of the car also.

Got a picture directly from Initial D here :)

Red is the normal one

The green is how I want it, and I saw ftps with lights in them on fleabay, but they are long gone now.

#10
red is indicator/ turn signal
green is sidelight DLR/ park light

if that redsun fc flashes his lights pop up NOT FTP

check post 381 on here, might as well look at a few other pics also as nice fc\'s in white :p
it appears that the us fc\'s indicators are always on, when indicate they flash.
i think this guy has taken the fuse out (the mod mentioned earlier) and taken the side light / DLR out and replaced with ftp lens for that effect.
all the others i\'ve seen which have lights on, the indicator (red one in your initial d pic) are always on along with the side lights (green in your pic)

i think in your pic he has LED sidelights judging by how the sidelight is quite small. halogen bulb sidelights would light up the whole unit rather than just appearing as in pic.

If you see, his lights are up, so he cant be flashing them.
