You are sitting with mazda, designing the RX-7. Knowing what you know now about the car, what would you have changed in the design of the RX-7.  This can be for any of the generations, so lets hear your thoughts :Thumbs-up

wouldn\'t have let the local special kids design the FD sun visors for a kick-off. As it is, when it\'s sunny the choice is either drive blind or....well, drive with a black bit of trim in front of your eyes. Either way, you\'re gonna have a big accident!

Lol at sunvisors, I always thought I must just be freakishly tall when sitting down or something :3Confused. What an excellent OP, but where would you start!? So many WTF things about FDs !

Like....
* fuel filter location that needs a proctologist to change,
* rear hatch rain channels that, errr don\'t,
* ABS control unit "vents" that guarantee the unit gets filled up with water and goes bang,
* windscreen wipers that don\'t work above 50mph,
* eight thousand miles of sequential system vacc hose in which any one millimetre long tear can snafu the entire lot,
* headlights that are embarassed by passing glow-worms,
* Seals so good you can only close both doors if the window\'s open,
* CUBBY BOX LIDS,
* a cigarette lighter that when it\'s done pops out, rolls under the clutch pedal and sets fire to the carpet,
......continue to fade :Giggle............

what about the classic right-way-up oil filter? You know, the one that p!sses oil everywhere when you take it off AND put it back on....

oh yeah, and HT leads that require dismantling of most of the engine to change.

No way! The oil filter is genius! I barely ever spill a drop as it all drains when you stop the motor.
Lucky covered a lot of mine, which mostly revolve around water ingress-boot hatch drainage, and water run off into the sodding front windows and dripping onto the door control panel being the main ones!
Can\'t think of much else tbh. I love mine for all it\'s foiables. Without them it\'d just be another soulless, characterless lump of metal.

almost forgot this one, using the screen washer doing ANYTHING over 5mph and watching as the water drains into the car through your open window!

And a passengers interior door handle so brittle that you have to remind whoever is sitting there not to close the door via the said item.

Sort of the same as my biggest gripe, designing the lines of the car so that in wet weather water is channelled through the slightly open window all over your leg/switches etc.

Also fitting the seats soooo low, great for driving position etc, but a right pita when you drop your tunnel toll money under the seats in a long and irate queue.

A 150 litre fuel tank would be handy .

I definitely agree with the sun visors, it\'s drive blind or well... blind lol. The fuel filter is also in a stupid place and for no real reason than to make it hard work. The passengers door handle does break easily and the rain does seem to pour in when you have the window open slightly but apart from these few minor things i\'d say the RX-7 is a pretty decent car all round.

My only problem is that the rear window is pretty hard to clean, you have to have arms like inspector gadget to get the whole thing sparkling. Also you can\'t adjust the screen washer aim (I think) one of mine seems to clean the window screen on the car behind lol.
