How do I take the front facia off on my FC S4 Cab? I need to take it off to check for solutions for my orange park lights, as these are illegal in Norway.

dthebuk

front bumper?

you have to go in through the arch liner.

heres a workshop manual http://www.teamfc3s.org/main/factory_service_manual/1986_1988/

Arch liner? Don\'t know what that is really. The drawings in the manual didn\'t help too much on how to disassemble it either.

I know there are 4 screws on the top of the fascia, but there must be more. (that is exactly where the hood goes down.

dthebuk

Well do you know what the front arches are? The liners are the plastic covers on the inside of them to stop water etc getting thrown up into the arch and causing rust!

Are we misunderstanding where you are trying to access
I started with nothing and I have most of it left

No, as far as I know, front bumper (ie the plastic/rubbery thing in front of the car), is also called fascia. FaCIA was a typo from me, though.

Like dtheb says you have to go in through the wheel arch. remove the plastic liner from the wheel arch and then reach inside towards the front bumper. There are 3 more bolts/nuts each side holding the bumper onto the wings. They can be a pain to get off if they are rusted but you might be lucky if your car is US import.
I don\'t need to upgrade my stock turbo to beat your ass!

Get your finger out, get it on the road and start driving it then!!! (B.Martin 25/2/12)

Ah when you say wheel arch I am following :) Yeah, I will check tomorrow when I get time :)

Send us a pic of what is fitted please as if its just the park lights then you should not need to remove the arch liners. Also seeing whats fitted might bring different options as to what you can fit.

Sorry haven\'t been on here for some days. I am going to paint the grille-thing in the front as well (black, S5 style), so I need to take it off unless I want the A/C-IC to get black as well.

By the way, how hard is it for someone with intermediate carskills (general skills, not rotary only), beginner mod-skills (that is glassfiber etc.) to change from S4 front to S5?

It might be just as cheap for me to buy S5 front and park lights used, than buying S4 park lights new (cant seem to get used ones) for 85£ a piece. That is 170£ per pair, which is ridicolous.

pdtaylor18

I think you need to send us a pic of what you have.
Turn the orange park lights into indicators and buy some cheap front side lights you can bolt on until you can source some cheap S4 sidelight/Indicator. I only sold a pair a few months ago so they are out there.

Quite hard to go from S4 to S5 as even the electrical plugs were different, Alternatively pop these in, side lights built in: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/a72-RX7-RX-7-FC3S-BUMPER-LIGHTS-LENSE-13BT-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem53e449c8f8QQitemZ360312326392QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

Those were Kouki, I don\'t know if the flash-to-pass slots are the same on Zenki.

dthebuk

there was a guy on here who struggled with the s4/s5 front swap and ended up just putting the s5 lip on the s4 bumper, looked sweet.

as for the flash to pass. I\'m pretty sure all uk cars used the headlights for this. My s4 egi and s5 TII both had this. I thought the lights linked above are for jap cars.

I got USDM, so I dont have park lights there, I have flash-to-pass, which is no use, as there is no reflector, and they aren\'t approved to be used as park lights.
