With the power the new engine is putting out, we have decided to get a new gearbox.

Ive always wanted to fit a sequential box, and the idea of coupling that with flat shifts makes it irresistible!!

So some pictures of the new box :)

looks smaller and lighter are the ratio\'s the same ?

AtomicRex

It is a lot lighter.  We have the option of taking it in Magnesium, which is even lighter....but to be honest the maintenance is too high stopping it from furring up!

Gearing is whatever I want :)  Plus we have the option of drop gears, so similar to changing the final drive we can keep the ratios of 1-6 the same...and then gear them up or down to suit the circuit.  But we could happily have it geared to over 200mph...possibly 220mph would be nice (although the budget of £10k would have been blown on the box alone!)

The picture is without the adaptor plate,  so it will be the same length as the standard box.

One of Pips rencent builds has one fitted. Very cool bit of kit but my god how much ! I think his was 8k and then he had a really cool dash that was fully customisable and was £1k

He was running the car in at Oulton so didn\'t get chance to see what it was capable of !

We are also running a fully configurable dash by GEMS....it is using the new organic liquid crystal so is super thin, but brighter than most, so doesn\'t suffer from issues due to glare.

The sequential gear changes with flat shift should be worth 2 seconds a lap they reckon, so heres hoping :)

wat make gearbox is it :xconfused

When is the car gonna be making its debut Jon? We of course expect pics and vids.

AtomicRex

We are well on track now, pardon the punn, to getting the car finished in time for testing in March.  As soon as the new engine comes over from the states, we will be able to plumb everything in, including the new gearbox and diff...and we should be ready for the off.

FDAsh

Sounds good! Are you going in for Time Attack or Combe GT again?

AtomicRex

The car will be running in the GT Cup primarily.  We will run in as many races at Combe, and possibly doing a round of the Time Attack.

It will need to pay its way though...so it will go wherever a customer wants to race it!

marco

Will you be selling the gearbox kit? Will full MRC members get a 5% discount?

Panjy

Come on then, details on weight and price ya tease :)
