im thinking of buying the kit. Ive already got a shell, a 1jz engine, and a R154 gearbox for this conversion, just getting the money together for the conversion kit from tech2  im going for the 1jz as its a little lighter and a touch smaller and alot cheaper with hardly any difference in performance besides that the 2jz has sequential turbo system

Charlie there is a chap called Ryan over your neck of the woods that\'s doing a top notch 2JZ conversion as we speak.
Not sure if he is on these Forums though but I can pass on your details...
TRex the Ecowarrior - Recycling exhaust gas and using it to create energy. Just doing my bit

Dont rule out the 1.5JZ...

If you are looking to split the motor, you can pick up a 2JZ NA for not a lot, and put the bottom end on the 1JZ head which actually flows better than the 2JZ (factory HP was virtually the same).

Depending on your expected power, you could get away with leaving the stock NA Pistons in place, but you would have to research the compression ratio you woul dbe happy with - easy to adjust with a metal headgasket though.

Best of both worlds!
