Right then, I currently have an EGI and really love the car despite the fact that the bodywork is very very tatty.  Handling wise I am very impressed but power wise I want more.  Having recently done Mallory in it, it really felt very slow when in a straight line.
So now I am back thinking about where to go from here, and have pretty much narrowed it down to the following few options.

Rebuild and port the EGI - This is very appealing to me, despite the fact that it is fairly pricey.  Since I would want to minimise the expense I don\'t think I would go Bridge or PP due to the extra modifications required (also would like to do track days and understand these can be very loud).  So if I understand correctly, I could probably street port to low 200BHP range.

Buy a TII  - Quite like the idea of this as looks wise the car is better, and also has more power to begin with.  Would be tempted by the red one for sale currently that requires rebuild.  Only thing is I kind of wanted NA power for FC.

Leave rotary ownership and get R32 GTS-T - Having recently driven my brothers I really do love it and it is cheaper option.  Also I can fit in this car with helmet, something I cannot do properly in currect FC.

Only thing in back of my mind at the minute is that I really do love the FC and don\'t want to give up just yet.  Also EGI despite it\'s shoddy bodywork, is currently setup quite nicely.  Koni rears, RB exhaust, RB front and rear ARB\'s, RB brake lines, Brembo discs and MRC pads.
As for fitting in the FC, if I keep with it, I am removing sunroof mechanism so that I can fit in properly.

Anyways, what would you people go for?

Thanks

Mark

P.s. Sorry for long thread and also for my constantly changing ideas of what I want :)

have you thought about a side mount rail and bucket seat, gets a little bit lower than bride recliner.

why r32? they quite heavy.
Depending what your budget is have you thought about mx5? turbo mx5? mrs supercharged?

if all else fails, buy my fc :p
lots of power, rebuilt engine, good body, can chuck in a roll cage for extra safety for track days the list goes on...... :p
2 doritos on a stick woohoo :rollin

MrHanky

Yep, thought about side mount and might go this route if I decide FC is the way.
R32 GTS-T\'s are actually the lightest of the bunch.  No 4WD jiggery pokery to weigh it down.  Also like straight six\'s.

MX5 poses similar issues.  My brother had one for a while that I borrowed for a week.  In the words of my wife "You look like Mr Incredible in that" :)

I didn\'t realise you were selling Liam.  How much and have you a thread about it somewhere?  I would like to get a ride in a TII sometime as I haven\'t even been in one to form a proper opinion.

Thanks

depends on what your ultimate goal is power-wise really.

Obviously you will get more horses from a TII with capacity to increase that far more than an N/A - although if you were to go really silly porting, ceramic tips, rev limit of 11 or 12k then you\'d get a lot of grunt from an N/A too!

Have you considered dropping a TII motor into your EGi body that way you\'d retain the setup you like and have the bigger power?

Power delivery will be different between the linear n/a and the TII but you will gain a fair bit in straight line speed.

The GTSt is an odd alternative though if you like the n/a power delivery....

I say TII all the way, but I would!

89 Black FC3S Turbo II
1/2 Bridge port   Microtech LT10s   TII Conv Aluminium Bonnet & Leather seats   Koni Shocks Pi Springs   De-catted 3" exhaust
GT4088 turbo   Walbro fuel pump   1000cc injectors   custom V-Mount   Blitz Boost Controller (ok so the boost controller is still to fit)

Loud? Hell yes! :D

MrHanky

Still liking the idea of NA and have just been talking to Pip at WGT.  Prices seem reasonable and he has giving me something to think about.

Not sure about putting TII in EGI.  The other aspect of higher powered EGI is that I still have less to go wrong than on Turbo.

GTS-T is a fun car and something i would like one day.  I love turbo and NA but kind of fancied sticking with NA for the FC.

Thanks

N/A is the way ahead, no worrying about boost building when you don\'t want it and loads of carefree revs!
RX8 High Power, Cusco Coilovers, Dotz wheels and flames. Shoe Size 12

Apparently putting details of your car spec in your signature means the nice folks on exile-rotorsport think you\'re a fool.  I can think of no higher compliment!

Bolt a supercharger on the side of the NA :)

sell, i\'ve just got the itch as not driven it in so long lol
if someone offered me a silly figure over £6k then i\'d seriously consider it.

i have to admire sadgoth. his fc has been sat sunbathing for... a lot longer than mine! and he\'s not even thought about selling it!
Good to see your face around sadgoth :)

Yep thats something I am thinking about a lot.

I looked into this a while ago, but everyone I spoke to had no experience of this and it looked to be quite expensive.  Otherwise I would to try this route.

like mine one, with over 10 wins this year in Sprints/hillclimbs, N/a 13Bpp motor( ex-carlH PP rotorhousings), 280+hp and built it by myself for the driver myself(20+ years Rotordaft)
check it oot, last weekend Fintray hillclimb, 32.44 sec and come second, first\'s a Lotus 2-11 scores 32.23 sec( 2/100th slower to me:)) and a TVR griffin500\'s a 32.77.
all in a good day speed event.

do you like it? and far better than a turbo;)

Cool, very very nice.  NA is winning at the minute.
