I have an Elford turbo engine with Gear box, of which me and my dad managed to rescue out of a scrapped gen 1, if I had known at the time I would have tried to save the while car but the scrap man said it would not be able to be put back on the road due to it being registered as being scrapped.

The car was not in a good condition and when we pulled it to bits we actually found what looked like an old rats nest in it, shredded paper and foam, etc.

I was thinking of keeping this engine and gear box to put in a mini at some point but I think owning an fd, rx4 and a trans am at only 24 is enough cars, so I was wondering if anybody would be interested in this engine and gear box?

When I bought it they said it had only just been scrapped the week before and the engine was working perfectly. Im open to offers but if the money isn\'t right then I will keep it and probably put it in a mini in the next few years.

Hi Grant, Any chance you can remember the Reg and Colour of the 1st Gen? To check off against my register in case it\'s on there.

I remember that the car was blue but there wasn\'t a registration on the car, I will see if there is any numbers on the engine which might help you?

No, it\'s OK Grant. I can\'t keep track of all the engine numbers, (so many get changed). Therefore I just work on the Reg No or sometimes the VIN on the shell if I can get it.

But thanks for the colour mate, I\'ll put a note on my register to look for a Blue Elford in West Yorks sometime previous and try and trace back.

Cheers for reply  Dave.

If it\'s any help I got it from londondenfoot near Halifax. We did take some pictures of it so if I find them I will have a look for the reg for you.

Luddendenfoot.   Thanks for that as well Grant. If you can turn up the Reg at some time that would be great...
