Boost issues

Today my rx developed a problem, when flooring the car the engine suddenly cuts out, it feels just like fuel surge. It initially happened only at 5000rpm then started happening any time fuel throttle is used. It will happily rev whilst using part throttle on the move.

Any ideas what could cause this??

Its single gt35r, power fc etc.

At these revs it sounds like boost cut,

Is this a car that has been mapped ?

Yeah the engine was built and mapped by wgt, has worked perfectly till today.
 
It also has a boost controller installed but I am not sure how it works and have never touched it.
 
Any idea of things to check??

Hey Col,

Does it judder or just die completey at full throttle?

Have you replaced the plugs recently?

Are you experiancing boost spike?

Try checking the boost sensing lines to the boost controller and to the wastegate.

Does it feel like you\'re gonna headbutt the windscreen? If so, then as above, it sounds like fuel cut, usually triggered by sensing of too much boost.

Check the lines to your wastegate - are they all intact? No leaks? A leak in a wg actuating line could lead to catastrophic overboosting. Also worrth checking what boost you were hitting when the cut occured.

If it\'s less violent, and more of a severe holding back/machine gun type noise, it could be ignition break up - so spark plugs, coil pack break down, leads etc.

Just to expand on my explanation, it feels exactly like fuel surge, head into the windscreen stuff.
 
The power pc had recorded 1.2 bar and its mapped for 1.0bar. I have no idea how the boost controller works so not sure how to check what its saying.
 
I spoke with pip this afternoon and he was fairly confident that it was boost cut and most likely either the lines to the waste gate or someone has played with the boost controller.
 
Going to take the car to SW Motorsport and let them speak to Pip, hopefully an easy fix!
 
Is there any easy how to use a boost controller guide on this site?

Yeah, doing fine, the good wife has only 10 weeks to go! exciting times!!
Had the car round Knockhill on Sunday with big bro in his! superb fun, need new brakes pads now thought:Giggle!!! I Think there are vids on youtube now.

What kind of controller have you got?? you may be able to get the instructions online. Alternatively, if you have a greddy profec b, I still have my instructions.

If you want, I can have a wee look before you spend any money?

Its greddy pro spec B one, I found the instructions online but I dont really know what I am doing with it, will have a read at the weekend.
