Hi Height Question

Hi I\'m thinking about getting an RX7 in a few months hopefully was just wondering as I\'ve heard someone my size may struggle to fit into one. Is there anyone on here 6 ft 1 13/14 stone have any problems fitting into one?? Ive seen you can get longer runners but just want to know if the original ones would accomodate someone of my size?

im 6ft3 and 14-15stone.

You need to do 2 things really to comfortably drive an rx7 at our height.

You dont need to go out and buy runners, you just modify the existing ones, take out the drivers seat and at the back of the rail there is 2 bumps, drill them out and the seat will go all the way back till it touches the back seat.

That is fine now for comfort but if your running the stock steering wheel you may hit your legs with your hands when your cornering, i found this out when i went sideways on diesel, went to correct it and my hand hit my knee!

Get a smaller steering wheel stops this happening, i went down to a 350mm wheel which was ok but found it didnt really do enough to make me happy, im now down to t a 330mm wheel and its perfect, the only issue you will then have is because our eyeline is so high in the car compared to the japs is you cant see alot of the dash.

changing to a seat with a lower sitting height sorts this out but its not a major concern, you just have to move your head slightly if you want to look at the fuel gauge.

The other option to slouching / lowering the seat in order to see the dials is to fit one or more steering-wheel spacers.

I currently have fitted the momo-boss adaptor (~100mm), Quick release adaptor (~60mm), and a normal spacer (~50mm), which brings the wheel back to a much more comfortable position - and frees plenty of space behind the wheel for my knees to move about in (so I can start to heel-toe it).  This also lifts the wheel, so that the top is roughly where the stock wheel would be, and I can clearly see all the dials.

The main downside of this is that, with ~210mm of spacers fitted, you can\'t operate the indicator/wiper stalks without taking your hand off the wheel - but I regard that as a small price to pay for comfortable driving position

haha thas fair enough ill be going to look at one to see if i can test drive it and have a feel for the car. Where do you get the spacers and steering wheels from??

i\'m 6\'1" and about four foot of that is my legs
 
all i\'ve done is pushed the seat as far back as it goes, laid it down a bit and put on a quick release that spaces it about two inches. did a three hour drive the other day and no complaints!
