Is it clutch related

Hi, Just wondering is this something to do with the clutch? When I hit boost the car just revs up. The power is not getting to the wheels. I\'m guessing clutch is on its way out but its fine to get into gear and drive without boost. Could it be diff related. Any help much appreciated.

Thanks
Thomas

Im no expert but sounds like the clutch is slipping

Ye feels like that. Its seems to be getting worst to. Do you have any idea how much a new one is or what would be a good aftermarket one?

No Idea mate try clicking on the banners at the top of the page im sure they would have some:Thumbsup!

depends what you use the car for.

if you\'re drifting it, it\'d be worth going after something like a padle clutch

At the min I only us it for drifting but hope to put it on the road some day. What is the difference?

im under the impression padle clutches deal with clutch kicking a lot better than the standardish uprated clutches such as the exceedy organic. Though i have an exceedy organic in mine and its lovely to drive with. Im sure a padle clutch would be fine on the road they\'re just a bit more hassle, they\'re very on or off and hard to slip

Yep thats a slipping clutch, I have just swapped my OEM organic for an ORC twin plate race clutch :D doesn\'t slip now lol :P

I guess the question is: What power is the engine running?

sidewaysted

Its standard enough. I know the ECU has been chipped. Has a high flow exhaust system as well. I built the car myself used to be a series 4 non turbo. I couldn\'t find a TII at the time I was looking for one. I bought all series 5 parts bit by bit. Im raging cause the engine was out and I was going to change the clutch ah well. Where did you get that clutch from and how much am I looking at?

Got it 2nd hand off TRex on here, its an ORC 709, discontinued, about 2 grand when new though, if you are going twin plate be prepared to pay about £1200 for a new one.

I would recomend getting an uprated single for those power levels, I will be fitting a T88 to mine, so should be running 550-600, which is why I have upgraded to more than needed as the clutch can take 700ish.

for a stock turbo i\'d say its a toss up between something like an exceedy organic and a padle. Just depends how you want it to drive/last. Deffo wouldn\'t go for a stock clutch though

It was the cheaper option for me, the option is either 1 expensive clutch, or 4-5 less expensive clutches that can\'t hold the power and need to be taken out again lol
