Hi guys.. went out lastnight  all warmed up put my foot down and got to about 5,000 rpm and the engine just cut out took my foot off the go pedel  half pressed it down and was fine .... also back firing and juddering between shifts

put my foot down again was fine for a while ... got nearer to home foot down again got some revs up and cut out

also have noticed that it feels like the first turbo spins up fine then when it gets to about 4,000 rpm not a lot happens ... until i get to 6,000 rev\'s and it leaps forward  ....

and last thing noticed the other day the odeomiter lights up but has no numbers on it so cant see the mileage ,  and when i turn the lights, side lights come on but no dipped beam i have to push the dash button to get the dipped beam on

same thing this morning its a pain as want to take it back to work

any help will be great as im new to the RX7 and i no it will take me a while to find me feet with her

no it has been on there since i bought the car..

i found a plug on the back of the plenum that was unpluged , had a look for any other lose connections ... found nothing

took her out for another spin .... when it hits 6,000 revs in 3rd , the car lerchs forward and cut\'s the engine..

am i being stupid and is this fuel cut,  if so why didnt it come on before now as ive took it up to 6K before??  and the other things have nothing to do with this one

Sounds like a possible fuel pump problem ive had one done that took ages to find think it was due to poor fuel and lack of new filters, see if anybody has a fuel pressure tester that can run up the road with you

What fuel are you running? it might be an issue with the boost solinoid not boosting up the 2nd turbo?

AndrewC

It will be due to the odometer not reading.
We have seen this before causing the engine to cut at certain speeds in certain gears.
Replace the speedo guage and it will be ok.
